Watching the Yankees game today to commentators mentioned that the comissioner is about to open investigations into the A-Rod saga and if found guilty a suspension is a real possibility.

Obviously this Prince Fielder signing is going to be vital for Milwaukee as potentially Ryan Braun and himself will be the best hitting duo in the majors. If Fielder signs elsewhere, I'd suggest Braun will go somewhere else when his current contract expires.

Yankees beat the Red Sox 3-2 in Game 1. Broke a 7 game losing streak against the Sox but most importantly now lead the AL East by a game

Anyone catch the amazing game yesterday between the Yankees and A's?
Oakland led 7-2 at end of 4th and then Yankees went bezerk. Next 4 innings at bat for Yankees went 4,4,6,6, with the Yankees winning 22-9, awesome hitting display.
Now only 1/2 a game behind the Red Sox.
Phillies with the best record across the comp and the first side to 80 wins

Heaps of games postponed due to hurricane Irene on East coast.
The Yankees are bunkered down in a Baltimore hotel waiting for the hurricane to pass so they can continue their series against the Orioles

Milwaukee Brewers coming on strong with only 21 games to go as they have gone 30 and 8 in their last 38 games to sit 84 and 57 overall.
Curtis Granderson's certainly surprised me for the Yankees with 38 homers already this year after having only reached 30 (exactly) in a season before and with 24 steals he has an outside chance of joining the 30 homer/30 steals in a season club which has only been done by 34 players before.
Ichiro Suzuki seems to be back on track and if he can play 3 more seasons (he'll be 40 at the end of the 2014 regular season) that it will take to reach 3000 hits, it may be the best 3000 ever considering he didn't play his first major league game until he was 27.
Thought the Detroit Tigers may struggle a bit given the quality they've lost in recent years but they are currently 8 games ahead in the AL central and have the amazing Justin Verlander pitching a fantastic 21-5 season.

Phillies are the first side to clinch a playoff spot, closing in on the 100 win mark.
Colorado eliminated from playoff race in NL.
Within a couple of days the playoff race should become much clearer as a few more sides close in on playoff spots, the Tigers only need 1 more victory and are hot at the moment, dropped their first game in 11 yesterday

Boston not looking good after the disaster against the Rays. Ortiz really needs to carry some weight in the batting line-up and think more about his prediliction of swinging over the top of breaking balls and chasing balls on the inside of the plate. Ellsbury and Gonzalez at the top of the order just need to regain some confidence. Red Sox miss Post Season is not a good headline to be read in the Boston Globe and heads will roll at Fenway Park if that happens

Boston could only split their double header with Baltimore, lost the first in a close one but hammered them in Game 2. Still think they will make it as the Rays have 7 games against the Yankees coming up. Cone on Yankees only 5 wins remaining to stitch up AL east

Boston dropped another game against the cellar dwelling Orioles. Lucky for the the Yankees crushed the Rays. Still think Boston will make it, once again there will be 2 teams from the AL East playing in the post season.
Spots are almost done and dusted but cant wait for the Sox v Yankees series over the weekend
