Ouch, Del Potro outright choked on that one although Federer dominated the game and had him 0-40 at one stage. In any event DP double-faulted and has handed the break back to Federer, 4-3. He worked so hard to dig himself out of that hole after Fed had him on toast too.

Match point...saved. Fed serving for the match now at 5-4.

15-0...

30-0...

30-15...

40-15...MATCH POINT...GOT HIM!! GAME, SET, MATCH, THE GREAT MAN INTO THE FINAL!!! The French crowd really does love him, they just erupted when he finished it off. Can you imagine how they'd be if he won the final?

Also have to say huge props to Juan Martin Del Potro, he played some outstanding rallies at pressure stages and pushed Fed all the way. Most players would've been gone after being broken in the opening game of the fifth against Federer but he managed to break back make it a fight to the finish. A couple of double faults were costly but still he showed more than enough to suggest that he can give the likes of Djoker and Murray a run for that top 3 ranking.

Federer is striking the ball as cleanly as he has all tournament, perhaps all year. Takes the first set 6-1. Soda looks a little overwhelmed by the occasion (and probably Fed's standard of tennis at the minute).

If Fed loses the plot from here anyone who put money on Fed has the right to be ****ing ropeable. That is an absolute disgrace, what an asshat and shame on you French security!! If he was armed this could've been very serious.

Fed takes the second set in a tiebreak 7-1 - every single one of his points were won with aces. Incredible serving. It will be interesting to see how he goes in this third set, whether the nerves will kick in at all.
