Anyone watch/interested out there?

I've been watching the UFC in particular for a couple of years.

I've also seen Strikezone on ESPN a couple of times.

It'd be great to see the UFC come to Australia, but I'm interested to know if anyone here follows it.

I download all the UFC shows.

The Ultimate Fighter is awesome... where up and coming MMA fighters compete for a 6 figure contract.

I was interested to see that during UFC 82, Mark Coleman announced a comeback vs Lesnar. Brute of a bloke that guy. Head like a rock!

I watch the Ultimate Fighter with great interest. For some reason I have a great deal of intrigue about what goes into someone's head, by making a living smashing another guys lights out but yet have the utmost respect for each other ?!?!?!. Even more so than boxing.

I download the UFC the day after it's aired as well. I note that after I fast forward through the intros and ads, it's about 45 mins of fighting. But I'm completely hooked!

Absoltly love the UFC, if u can get your hands on the early dvd's like before UFC 15, it was a totaly different set up.

The only rules back then was: no eye gouging, no biting, no fish hooking.

everything else was legal, headbutting, groin shots, everything.
Was no weight divisions and the whole PPV was a knock out style comp.

Love the 'new' UFC, but the older version was much better IMO

The old style was better I thought, (more violent) but at times was slower before the rules were changed.

Broke Lesnar looks like he'll be an entertaining one to watch.

Watched the last PPV live in a sports bar in Honolulu, it was on all 30 of their tv screens and had 250 people there watching and cheering. Good fun.

UFC 84 is this Sunday, and the card looks pretty good to me.

Main event is BJ Penn defending the Light Heavy Weight title against Sean Sherk

2 of the other good fights will be Silva vs Jardine, and Tito Ortiz vs Lyoto Machida , btw Tito is paying $2.70 on sportsbet.com.au

I would've thought an all up on Penn, Silva and Tito would be the way to go.

Has anyone watched UFC84?

Some good bouts in there, the Penn Sherk one was good but the Silva Jardine one was very interesting. The Machida Tito one was a bit dull for mine.

Obviously I'm trying to keep the post a bit vague so I don't give it away for those who haven't seen 84 yet.

BTW, when I saw Coleman he looked very overweight. I didn't even realise it was him. Must've been the hat!

To be honest, after watching UFC85, I thought the bouts were pretty ordinary, with the Hughes v Alves and Davis v Swick ones being the standouts on paper.

The Marquardt v Leites turned out to be the best of the night and the Vera v Verdum bout the disappointment of the card.

I just happened to stumble across the spike tv site and noted that Evan Tanner passed away on 5 September. Did anyone else hear of this?

Apparently went walking in the desert and died of heat exhaustion.
