Pirate - do you stay in Chewang when in Koh Samui, or elsewhere?

Down the southern end of Chaweng. Pool entry rooms are becoming a bare minimum for me these days.

^ nice. I have a fairly good idea where that is and the map confirmed it. What are the dining, drinking options like down that part of the island?

We stayed pretty central last time at this place - http://www.baanchawengbeachresort.com/ - its pretty basic, but we were comfortable. Very close to lots of eating options. And only a 5 or 10 minute "stumble" home at night!

It's located in a quieter part but still close enough to access by foot. I am estimating a 2 can walk.

Ok - 2 cans.... I can deal with that. Even though we stayed in the busy part of the Island, and at times could hear the "doof, doof" from the Ark Bar just up the way, it didn't bother us much. Thai Beer will do that to you!

Eating somewhere different is one of the things I enjoy. Just going for a stroll, taking in the sights, sounds, smells etc. We had 10 nights on the Island, and most nights found somewhere different, although we got friendly with the bloke who runs the Islander Bar in Chewang. As a result we made that home base when the footy was on etc....

26 baht to the Aussie $ at the moment. That in itself is not great..... was able to get as high as 33 to the A$ one trip. But it did get as low as 24 to the A$ at one point....

Pirate - If you can leverage a package rate at your digs, I'd be keen to know as well... :D

A lovely view Pirate....I can almost see the spot on the beach, about half way around where my sun lounge was a few years back. When you get back to cold/wet/windy Adelaide, I will be keen to pick your brain on the place you are staying..... particularly if you can get a deal for me.

Cheers
