Och aye the noo.

Heading over to Glasgow to attend a conference in early June for about 5 days - any tips or advice on good places for food and booze, parts to avoid (I understand there are a few dodgy spots), or interesting things to do and see?

Be prepared for shit weather....at the height of summer when I visited Edinburgh it was on par with Adelaide in winter!

There are some good museums there. Also the Barras flea market. The place I stayed was out near the University and there was some good nightlife out that way, though mostly young folk.

If you have some time then catch the train to Edinburgh.

The best pizza I've ever eaten outside of Italy was at a restaurant in Glasgow, called Paesano. Only seven types of pizza to choose from, and there was a line most nights we were there, but I'm so glad we sat and waited. A-mazing.

As far as to see, not a lot. I'd try to do a tour of Parkhead (Celtic Park) or the Ibrox if you're a football fan. We spent a day at the Glasgow Cathedral, the Necropolis and tried to get to Kelvingrove but it was shut just after New Year. If you can get a spare day, the 45 minute train to Edinburgh really is a better day out.

You can go visit my Castle and a park we have in Ayr.

Be Careful of what you wear into a pub. The wrong colour clothing could see you in trouble

I'll leave the Hypercolour T-shirts at home then.
