My neighbor is an avid V8 fan and has informed me that the new deal struck for channel 10 and foxtel to broadcast next year's season will only have channel 10 showing 6 rounds.

Surely that is a step backwards

No wonder ford are going to pull out of this series, it's basically no longer relevant and it's shambolically run. What a joke

to my understanding no other motorsport allows crews to work on cars during a red flag. You are giving an un fair advantage. all works should be done under green or yellow flags.

Yeah........lets change our engine under the red flag because we are slower than the rest...

A lot of people thought that was strange, can't see allowing that to happen staying in the rule book for much longer

Penske racing just bought majority share of DJR. I would suspect he would be pumping in more money then ford ever have to a team.

Penske deal with the blue oval in NASCAR so I would suspect they would be knocking on the door of the US offices pleading their case. Could they just convert their Sprint cup cars to Supercar specs?

What a start to the season with the 33 volvo crashing on the warm up lap

Red bull racing dominating still. No team anywhere near them.

Red bull not seen today. Good to see Nissan putting up some fight. Volvo need to sort out some car issues. Mercedes won't last too much longer with the way they are going.

Toyota signed a deal to start a development series for the v8's surely they are looking at running a car in the v8's in the future.

Could we see a night race at the new Tailem Bend track, also heard F1 have approved the track which could see a night F1 race in Adelaide.

Wrong, its only a Category 2 Track for FIA Standards.

South Australia’s second V8 Supercars track taking shape at Tailem Bend

but it does comply for Moto GP

Michael McDonough of M Track wrote:The track is category 2 so that allows you to accommodate any category of motor racing vehicle except Formula One, and in terms of motorbike it will be a grade one circuit so it would be able to accommodate Moto GP if that was ever considered commercially.

i believe Lexus are a confirmed starter for next season (2016), and i also heard that the toyota development series will be a fleet of 86 race cars, should be good to watch.

meanwhile the stadium super trucks were definitely the highlight of the 4 days. best racing i have seen in a long time. i want one :)

F1 night race in adelaide ?

never happen. One the V8s have the rights for a few years still, and doubtful the government, and even more so the north adelaide society would approve of another period of time in the year where all their mates in and around kent town/kensington etc to be inconvenienced with the traffic restrictions. V8s also would not play second fiddle to F1 IMO. Yes they do play second fiddle to the F1s in the melb F1 race but they are only a support race there
