Plucked up the courage to step on the scales this morning

106.5kg. I was prepared for 108. Not as bad as I thought. Went for a few walks in the weekend and the right knee is giving me curry. No way I’m playing cricket this summer, even if a season goes ahead. Can’t walk, let alone run. Depressing.

Nope. Need a knee replacement they won’t do that until I’m 60. Got to wait 6 more years.

I had the left knee cleaned out 10/12 years ago when I was doing a bit of running. Actually a week after running the Adelaide half marathon. The right knee is shot now, left one is not all that good either. The surgeon said I need to loose weight before any cricket, moderate success here only. Made more difficult by not being able to go for a run. Running was my go to, in order to loose weight in the past. The way he explained it to me, it's "structural" and the joint needs replacing......however you've got me thinking of a second opinion as 6 years is a ling time to wait, and I'd be 130kg's by then!

Get a bike CM, not only a great exercise for the knees, it builds up muscles around the knees which improves your quality of life. The more I ride the better my knees feel. I went 2 weeks recently without riding and I felt 80.

I have 3!

2 road bikes, including a Schmick Pinarello. I have an old Alchemy set up in my shed on a Mag trainer. I have a Giant mountain bike too.

You are correct way less stress in the knees. The roads in Melbourne are not conducive to riding on all that much. Not to mention the 5 k rule in place as well. When restrictions are lifted, the mountain bike in the bike paths is a good option, particularly in some Spring sunshine.

Well my bro had both replaced and he is younger than you and me. Get a second opinion

17/06/2020 = 107.9kg
24/06/2020 = 108.1kg
01/07/2020 = 107.4kg
08/07/2020 = 107.1kg
15/07/2020 = 109.6kg
22/07/2020 = 108.3kg
12/08/2020 = 110.1kg
26/08/2020 = 111.1kg
09/09/2020 = 111.9kg

Continue to spiral backwards, this week probably a result of a heavy Friday night, then getting concussed Saturday which meant until yesterday I just lied down and physical activity was at a minimum.

Buoyed by the later sunsets now and with no significant sport commitments until October I’ve got a few weeks to knuckle down. Back to the gym at work top of my list.

Thought I would keep a daily eye on my weight this week just to see how it fluctuates:

Wednesday = 111.9kg
Thursday = 111.4kg
Friday = 111.1kg

All depends on how much you had to drink (water), when you've taken a shit, etc etc.
never weigh yourself daily mate. Once a week at most and always at the same time as the week before so you have a direct comparison.

Yeah I considered it coz I was more interested to see how it fluctuated after a dozen beers and pizza on a Friday lol
