People that complain about halloween but don't complain about other holidays or traditions from overseas like Christmas or Easter.

I'm an atheist too, though I don't preach about it.
My only objection to the Halloween we are getting is that it is a corrupted consumption orientated US version that has little to do with the original tradition, being introduced as a commercial con job.

I largely ignore Christmas and Easter, and other religious and cultural festivals, but don't begrudge people who care enjoying them, though I do object to the commercial interests trying to con the the susceptible into spending lots of money on junk by manipulating the expectations of their children.
The blatant exploitation offends my particular and personal morality.

I forgot about Halloween until 2 kids came to my door last night looking for some free lollies. Only one had anything resembling a costume, and that was a shitty cape. I gave them cupcakes, coz I had no lollies, then put a sign up.

It amused me to see all the half eaten bananas all over the road this morning. Obviously some people tried to do something good by giving fruit, and it wasnt entirely appreciated

I had a group of teenagers come into my work last night, who obviously had made no effort, and just wanted free shit. Cheeky c**ts. I told them to piss off, but politely.

I also had a lady come in last night, who spent roughly $60 on lollies and chocolates to give to trick-or-treaters. It looks to me as though she's been tricked...

As previously mentioned, I think Halloween in Australia is essentially a commercial con job.

That's the plan, FC.

My plan is to secure finance on a 1 or 2 tonne van, and become a courier, sub-contracting for whoever wants me.

It's a bit of a risk, but there's no reward if you don't put yourself out there.

I'm anxiously waiting for the day when I can tell my current employer to shove the job up his arse.

Given your current industry, would your employer understand what you are saying?
