So you believe autism is caused by a misalignment in your back? Because they sure do.

If your back is out of place then manual manipulation could pretty obviously help but even then the medical evidence is slim.

Can't find it on my phone but the Australian had a report saying that they are going to do a study into the medical evidence. And Macquarie uni have stopped their chiro degrees because there was no research being conducted by their academics.

They? Who's "they"?

And this is the article you're talking about I assume?

Proposed changes to Chiropractic at Macquarie

Dear Macquarie staff,

This afternoon we are announcing a proposal to begin discussions with other interested higher education providers about the transfer of our chiropractic teaching by 2015. The Faculty of Science made this decision based on academic grounds because we wish to build upon the University's recent major strategic investments in research-intensive areas of biomedical science and engineering.

As you are aware, Macquarie University has recently invested significantly in a postgraduate medical school and a state-of-the-art private hospital. We naturally want to also focus our efforts on supporting these initiatives with our teaching and research.

While our chiropractic area does not meet our requirements from a research-intensive perspective, we believe our chiropractic degrees to be of the highest teaching quality, and they remain extremely popular with students. We therefore believe the responsible thing to do is to begin discussions with other higher education providers who are keen to grow in this area.

The transfer would involve all Department of Chiropractic taught units and degrees, and relevant capital assets. It would also involve the potential transfer of a number of chiropractic academic staff together with their entitlements.

Naturally we are consulting directly with chiropractic staff and unions, and have released a formal change proposal.I have written to all chiropractic students today to reassure them that it is our top priority that all currently-enrolled chiropractic students who meet the requirements of their degree will graduate with a Macquarie University qualification.

We will of course keep you updated on this proposal following our consultation with affected staff and their representatives, and of any further developments in relation to chiropractic. If you have any questions, please send them to
chiro-questions@mq.edu.au.

sure, here are some references, both to chiropractors beliefs in that almost all diseases are caused by back misalignment, as well as some obvious refutations of those beliefs.

basically what you guys are getting confused with is the difference between physical therapy and manipulating your back and neck for other reasons.

and from wiki, with appropriate references if you go to the page

A 2012 systematic review concluded that no accurate assessment of risk-benefit exists for cervical manipulation.[180] A 2010 systematic review stated that there is no good evidence to assume that neck manipulation is an effective treatment for any medical condition and suggested a precautionary principle in healthcare for chiropractic intervention even if a causality with vertebral artery dissection after neck manipulation were merely a remote possibility.[126] The same review concluded that the risk of death from manipulations to the neck outweighs the benefits.[126] Chiropractors have criticized this conclusion.[183]
A 2009 review evaluating maintenance chiropractic care found that spinal manipulation is routinely associated with considerable harm and no compelling evidence exists to indicate that it adequately prevents symptoms or diseases, thus the risk-benefit is not evidently favorable.[184]
A 2008 summary found that the best evidence suggests that chiropractic care is a useful therapy for subjects with neck or low-back pain for which the risks of serious adverse events should be considered negligible.[185] A 2007 systematic review found that with uncertain efficacy and definite risks, the risk-benefit balance of spinal manipulation can't be positive.[124] A 2006 systematic review of systematic reviews found the risk-benefit balance does not favor spinal manipulation over other treatments like physical therapy.[128]
