but giving way only means that you cant impede their progress. it the car is on the other side ofhte roundabout, it is perfectly safe, and legal to go yourself as you arent impeding them in any way whatsoever. people in adelaide just dont get roundabouts full stop.

Time for this government, or any government, to do something about jobs in the north.
Holden is on its last legs, what then?
It's actually well past time.

This government will leave the next government with no money to spend, let alone implement anything of note.

In rough numbers the government last year predicted a deficit of (I dont know exact) $1b.

It is in fact $1.55b. In simple terms, they forgot they were building Adelaide Oval. ( I know it isnt that simple, however, but you get the idea, they were $550m out! )

Manufacturing is all but gone in SA, on a major scale. If I were living in the North, defence and support around it would be my target industry. I dont think Holdens will be making cars here within 3 years.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

Some would say Fords have been running second to Holdens for years...

North Terrace (West) precinct will get a tad busy with the New RAH, SAHMRI, SAHMRI 2, new University of Adelaide Medical School, and UniSA Cancer research facility ... $320M new spending announced in the last week.

Now, Tank Racing is something I could be tempted to watch at least once...
After all I went to the last Adelalde Grand Prix so I could say I'd been once - and I was getting in free. ;)

Highways?
The ancient Greeks had town planning right.
When a Polis (City) got to the limit of practical size they sent people out to start a new one rather than keep on spreading.
Melbourne and Sydney are abominations to get around in if you don't live in the inner suburbs where the public transport is practical.

having highways or motorways linking parts of a major metro is a good thing, where as craming everyone in a small area with "arterial roads" doesn't help and clogs those roads.

My view is , build a motorway, put a toll on it. Use it at your choice. I see, use a toll road and pay a fee, get there in half the time even quarter time, to where as using back streets or roads, stop starting at traffic lights or driving behind grandma doing 20kms under the speed limit as she heads to bowls, and use more fuel costing more with stop starting all the time.

But the choice is everyones

Yes, I make my choice.
From home I can - in off peak times - use the bus free as a Senior and get to the CBD in about 50 minutes (if the bus turns up) or spend the money to use my car and get there in 15 minutes. So, I use the car - though I often park in Parkside and grab a bus on the 15 minutely service there to avoid the parking costs if going anywhere near Rundle Mall or the University.

When living in Melbourne I used other routes to avoid the Tollways and again as I didn't have to travel in peak hour, because I was my own boss, that was a comfortable choice.

I get my tolls paid for in Brisbane so I don't care but if I did have to pay for it myself then I would still use it, would rather spend an extra 20 minutes each end of the day at home with the family rather than sit in traffic or a traffic lights for that period
