Well, at the start of the year I pencilled this one in as a must see, perhaps my Melbourne trip for the year, now I’m looking to palm off two tickets for this week’s FNF as the Hawks host the Power in a match up of 3rd and 12th. Drive 1400kms, drink Carlton Draught and blow $500 at the Crown for this? I don’t think so. I’ll sit home and watch it on the box and if standard operating procedure is adhered to I’ll fall asleep just after Hamish interviews this week’s Auskicker of the week and wake up when it’s so cold on the lounge that I can’t bear it anymore.

This would give anyone the ultra shits.

And Carlton Draught always tastes that little bit better in Melbourne.

It did, then it didn't. I'm off to Mildura this weekend for 3 nights so it would have been a drive to Melbourne and back one week and Mildura and back the next.

Went to a Hawthorn mates place to watch the footy instead, beat him 9-0 on his pool table and then watched Port roll them. Not altogether shitty with it.

Mrs goes vacuum shopping on the weekend.

“How much are you going to spend?”

“Oh, not sure, why?”

“Well, just wondered”

“I might get a Dyson, so $400ish?”

“Sure, .......”

*Three hours later I come home to see Dyson boxes*

“Get a new vacuum?”

“Yep”

“What sort?”

“Dyson”

“On sale?”

“Yep. Saved $500”

Hmmmm....

“You saved $500?”

“Yeah, they were $1300”

“THEY?”

“Yep, I got two for $800”

“Um, WTF, we don’t have ANY ******* carpet!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!?!” ( We have a rug in the lounge, we have a hall runner. The rest of the house is floor boards and tiles. We would have about 15m2 of textile on the floors in our 4 bedroom house )

“Yeah, well, they were a really good price”

*Shoot me now, please?*

Hey, that's a bargain for Dysons!

You have dogs, therefore you need to vacuum. ;)

Good buy Mrs Boon, good buy!

The dogs are not inside dogs, they might get a hour near the fire from time to time, but they aren't inside as a rule.

Do not praise her, even without an safooty.net account, she'll pick up on it..... :(

i had the sister inlaw once tell me that "it isnt how much you spend but how much you save"..... that lasted right up until i started pointing out the "specials" on the back of the street machine mag for big block crate motors that were a few thousand dollars off.......

all of a sudden the excuses came out "it costs thousands", "what do you want one of them for anyway" "you dont even have a car to put it in"...... frigging double standards

Having said that, I can honestly say one of the best purchases we ever made was the Neato Signature Pro robot vacuum. We basically never get the full vacuum out anymore.

We also have one of those stick vacuums, but i bought it from Kogan for $80 :D

Yep, happening as we speak. I finished up there in July and I've heard another 5-800 to go this time around. The meeting rooms have been booked (apparently/alledgedly) which means the meetings with said staff will be occurring today.

My missus bought a cordless vacuum cleaner which we had a bit of a disagreement over because we have a perfectly good Dyson .. As soon as the threat started with "well if you want to do the clean...." - no worries honey, you do what you need.

The things a glorified DustBuster (but less effective) and I think she only used it for a week or two, the last 5 years it's just taken up wall space (although I will confess it's been decent at picking up my post Pup crumbs).
