I can't wait for it to be over either but I will also take the advice of Dr Spurier, Professor Murphy etc.

Yep i get all that but if there is no one out in the community to catch it from it cant spread

Would be very naive to think that just because people haven’t tested positive, then there’s no one in the community with it

Thats what they would like you to believe and that keeps everyone locked up.
It hasnt happened so far, even in the supposed peak of the virus despite shops and Bunnings etc being far busier than they otherwise wouldve been. There has also been lots of people still working in factories and the like.
Ask yourselves why there hasnt been more widespread cases?

Because the Govt has shut down places where people sit and dwell, so to speak, like restaurants, clubs, pubs, sporting events, music festivals, gyms etc. Supermarkets and places like Bunnings people are on the move and typically are in an out in 30 minutes.

What they have said is that the information they have is that the cases in children are very low - quite a large bit of difference between the two. I assume they have weighed up the risks vs the benefits of getting kids back into some form of normality with the bonus that it allows parents also to get some form of normality back in their lives.

Only because they are the lowest tested demographic in Australia. For the most part, testing had been focused on symptomatic cases and most children with the virus have been shown to be asymptomatic.

The study being misrepresented in the press today still doesn't tell us whether we will reverse the sacrifices made by opening schools again.

Seems every state is beginning to look to easing restrictions, except SA which is probably in a better position than most?

Most states had harsher restrictions than us to start with and by relaxing them they are really only bringing them back in line with us

Some of the restrictions are :

In WA you can be in groups of 10 - We never adopted that

In Qld you can go recreational fishing in a boat, you can go to a national park - We never adopted that

We never went as hard* at restrictions as the other states did.

For those playing at home and those that aren't...

Junior School opened today for students to start back if their parents wished it (Middle and Senior start next week)...

Junior School attendance rate was 87.5% for today, to compare it to the 1st day of Term 1 the attendance was 97%

Not to bad considering...
