Yep. Subway or Hungry Jacks are the only places that equate to non airport prices.

HJs is generally $1 more at the airport than a regular store.

Makes my bottle of water, cheese & crackers and a cookie for $10 from the Cairns airport a steal.

So Subway the only one then.

You would think everything is prepared by 5 star chefs.

Adelaide airport do anyway

I didn't know the retailers added a Public Holiday surcharge at the Airport, mind you Subway is all I eat there, and lucky I get discount with a pass.

Subway made a killing when the Atura hotel was being built!

No shit, if it was raining nipples I'd get hit by an arsehole.

Wife has planned ages ago time away in Port Elliot leaving Saturday, son gets invited out to try out for a district cricket club last week, now their season starts this Saturday and they have a game on Sunday too.

Going to rack up a few km's this weekend, the missus is going to be rapt when I tell her too.

On the positive side, Sunday's game is at Kensington LOL

Speaking of cricket......them day after feelings in the body after a solid internal trial. A sheet of MDF board has more flexibility than me right now!

Was only joking with a mate on the weekend about bowling 15-20 overs in a day or batting for 2-3 hours.

How the **** did I do it?

Well these days there are comps for over 50's, 60's and 70's! Some of the mad bastards still play regular Saturday cricket then follow it up on a Sunday for an over age game

Scrolling through the charges on my bank card on the internet banking website. I see an obscure charge for $30 from a business I do not recognise. Googling the details yielded a security firm at Paralowie. I haven't been anywhere near Paralowie in years.

So I call the bank. Spend 5 minutes pressing buttons from a cascade of menus before getting put on hold, where I remain for 10 minutes, periodically listening to an automated voice spruiking the bank's services.

Finally get a nice young lady - an Australian accent, which is the only non-shitful aspect of this whole sorry affair - and explain the problem to her.

She suggests that I cancel the card rather than put a hold on it, since if it has been compromised there would be no point in reactivating the card once the mystery charge has been investigated, so I reluctantly agree. She runs me through a series of questions: do I have the card, have I ever lost it, have I ever written down the PIN, etc. She asks me to confirm that the card will be cancelled and I agree.

Then she says, "was the card with you on Monday and do you know where you were?"

I knew where I was. Nowhere near Paralowie; I took the tribe up to Strathalbyn for the Country Show. A surprisingly good day out;
and it only cost $30 to get in ...................

Image

Clearly the Strathalbyn Show outsourced its crowd control - including the entry gate - to some obscure Paralowie security firm.

Worked it out less than 60 seconds after the card had been cancelled, and no I couldn't reverse it.
