Tonight it's mountain goat summer ale, 6 pack for $15 from Dan's
Out for dinner so grabbed it.

Nice, light, small hint of fruity hops. Very smashable.

IT’S official — the world’s best gin is made right here in Adelaide.

78 Degrees gin, created in Nairne by craft distiller Sacha La Forgia, has taken out the top prize for International Gin at the American Distilling Institute Awards, held last night in Baltimore in the US.

“It doesn’t get much bigger than this,” said La Forgia, founder of the Adelaide Hills Distillery, speaking from Maryland.

“There were thousands of entries and we were awarded double gold in our class, best in category and best international gin. We beat out every other competitor.

“Winning best international gin is great, but winning the double gold means all the judges scored it about 95 points.

“There were only five double golds given out in the whole competition, so that was a big thing.”

Wow. It is easily my favourite. Goes great with sliced pear and cardamom pods.

I was a non-drinker for pretty much 30 years but, surprisingly for health reasons, I have started drinking cider. Although Pure Blonde is better for me (lower sugar levels) I tried a couple of Magners Irish Cider - absolutely loved the flavour! Not sure it is what the doctor wants, but I may try one or two a week :D

This goes alright if you like whiskey and ginger beer.
It's not too sweet either like some premixes can be.

Nah, we only did beer, spirits, cocktails and coffee.
Elton John's greatest selections is an additional week but I'm doing gaming instead. ;)

Diabetes - on becoming diabetic, I began drinking 'sugar-free' drinks like Pepsi Max, Coke Zero etc. My endoncrinologist said that he would prefer I drink low-carb beer and/or cider rather than those.
Cheers
