It pays to be polite and friendly with all the bar staff at your local.
I always remember their names, ask how they're going and say please and thank you when served.
Apart from the fact that's just the way I am, I find being friendly has major 'extra' benefits.
When one of the girls pours a glass of the wrong stuff for some fussy punter, guess who she gives it to ?

After a recent party for my eldest daughter I opened the fridge the next morning and it was full of FREE BEER

Won the fridge full of beer plus a carton of pale to bring home at the Payneham Tavern (not my usual haunt) last Saturday.

Result:

Last Saturday night: FREE BEER
Sunday: FREE BEER
Monday: FREE BEER
Thursday: FREE BEER
Friday: FREE BEER
Right now: Drinking FREE BEER

Folks called in today with FREE BEER (Palies again, woohoo!! )

Paid for the tickets so long ago (3 months) so last night at the Glenelg Hall of Fame dinner it seemed like I was drinking FREE BEER!!!!

Had a football meeting this morning, FREE BEER.....

Just got back from 4 days in Melbourne on a work conference.

Footy club preso's last Friday night, parents thanked me for coaching their kids with Free Beer!

A Stubbie holder from the club as part of my thankyou gift which was great but even better had a stubbie of Pale in it - more Free Beer!
