A bit left field, but came back from NZ with a taste for ginger beer and don't mind the stuff coming out of micro breweries here.

The Ginger Beer on tap at Ekhidna down at McLaren Flat ROCKS.

Beers:
Dortmunder DB, Asahi DB, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Carlton Cold, Verhoek, Tiger, Kirin, and for a light Cascade.
In India Kingfisher is definitely preferable to water.
There are few I actively dislike - Tsing Tao comes to mind.

Spirits:
The cupboard currently contains, Green Chartreuse, Cointreau, Benedictine, some Bombay Sapphire Gin, and a bottle of Armagnac.

Whiskies specifically:
I mainly prefer Oban, or Dalwhinnie, and if I can get the older Tullamore Dew I like that.
There is usually some of the cheaper Tullamore Dew on hand too, for casual and mixer drinks, but when that ran out, recently, Chivas Regal was being discounted at my local. A bottle of 18 year old Macallan is there, too, currently, but that was a gift - it usually costs more than I'll pay!

Wine:
I'm eclectic and will try anything that looks a bit different - like unusual grape varieties - and have found some excellent inexpensive wines by sampling that way. I usually drink more white than red and favour things like Verdelho, Viogner, Pinot Gris (and the Grigio style variant), Marsanne and a good Riesling.
(I'm definitely over Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.)

Among reds I like a good Cab Sav, but also dry Durifs or Zinfandels, Merlot, and Grenache.
(I'm careful with Shiraz as some of them trigger migraine - nothing else seems to do that to me.)

I also like a good Rose, but they are hard to find - John Tomich's "vin gris Rose" is not bad, and Hahndorf Hill make an enjoyable one from unusual grape varieties.

Yes I'd forgotten Laphroaig - I like it occasionally for a change.

Not simply Laphroaig... but Laphroaig quarter cask.

Those two extra words make a lot of difference.

Anything but Ouzo, Tequilla or Rum. Also, Asian and Italian beer is utter shite.

Tequila, by itself, is chuck-inducing.

Cointreau is palatable, but not something I'd drink by choice.

Striaght lemon juice isn't my idea of fun either.

But put these three things together in a 2-1-1 ratio (or close to it) and shake with ice, and you get something utterly fantastic.

I love a good tequila. None of that lemon or salt shit either.

I'm a sober lass these days but I always liked the Wynns Coonawarra Black Label cab sauv.

BTW, on other end of the scale, stay the f*** away from Bowler's Run wine or Castaway cider.

As a standard it's either coopers pale or a Melbourne tin.

I feel like treating myself Sierra Nevada pale ale, Brooklyn brewery lager, and little creature pale ale.

Love wine, Clare valley reds are a bit more elegant than a ballsy barrossa Shiraz.

Also aged Riesling. Try that, it's like kerosene!

On the odd occasion I drink, it's Bundy or Jamison.

Won't drink beer unless there are no other alternatives.

Have been known to get on the Ouzo and raspberrys if Im in a good mood. Good fun.

I'll try that bourbon helicopterking. Thanks.

I also LOVE white and 'normal' port, although it's referred to as sturt in our house. "would you like a glass of sturt to finish the night?"

A Kevin (Muscat) always goes well too.
