Bruschetta en tree - Two nice pieces of crunchy bread, good serving of fresh tomato and basil, good extra virgin olive oil used.

You'd think they'd branch out and add a couple of Bay leaves.

Wood have been good

Amen. Nothing worse than a heap of lettuce mix, one cherry tomato or tomato wedge, and 4 matchsticks of carrots. Lose 2 marks straight away, just for the attitude to do this.

I normally start with either the Satay Chicken skewers or the Sticky Rice with Vietnamese sausage.
For mains I love the Caramelised Pork Belly and the slow cooked duck and ginger. Their Pho’s are excellent too especially the spicy beef.
Great range of food and haven’t had a bad meal there

Agreed :

Spring rolls, chicken satay entrees both excellent

Mac n Beef main, Salt n Pepper chicken, Slow cooked caramelised Pork Belly Hot pot, Combo Stir fried noodles, all good.

Stopped in at Cafe Di Roma the other night, price vs quantity vs quality is brilliant.

Their Granchio & Gambero (with gnocchi) is something else, it is a crab meat, prawns and spinach dish served with a rosé sauce, massive serve for $23.90.

Not a pub or restaurant, but Rogasch Cottage in Tanunda is one of, if not the nicest place I have ever stayed. Around 100m off Murray St you jump in the hot tub plunge pool and you could be miles from anywhere. It's not cheap, but the experience is top notch and if you would like to impress the other half with a pretty special night away, try that place. Private wine cellar ( you get 1 bottle per night ), open fire, king bed. Job done.

10/10 from me.

5 Regions ( formerly Hill of Grace / Adelaide Oval )

5 course degustation was included in our luxury escapes package there for 2 nights in the hotel, absolutely amazing. Food, service, view, top notch. $120 per head plus $70 per head for matching wine, a bit like the above, not something you do every week but what an amazing experience. The meal (not wine) was included along with breakfast 2 mornings, valet parking and $50 in house spend with the 2 night stay, I think it worked out the 2 nights cost $100 with all the add ons. Nice hotel, good service.

8.5/10

Big Shed Brewing Red Ales and burgers, yes. Yes. Yes.

Had a couple of firsts on Sunday night.

Went to an American bar called "Shotgun Willie's" in Gilbert Place in the city, it was very saloon-like and they must get a lot of people passing through for a gander as we seen a few groups come in for the one drink and leave.

At $10 a pint I wasn't planning on making a decent session of it but their Brooklyn Lager wasn't too bad, there's a Blue's bar downstairs that kicks on late Sunday night's but I was a bit shagged by the time I was gonna go back, maybe next time.

Made stop across the walkway to Hains & Co. a place where you can buy cigars and sit at the bar with, there were a few business men there sucking on their cubans but at $15 for a half filled glass of G&T I didn't fancy kicking on too long there either.

Couldn't decide on a dinner destination so did the ole "Just stop and dine", found a Korean place called May Q on Leigh Street.

Got a few entree's along with a sizzling seafood and some over-priced chicken tenders, they had either Pale Ale or Korean echoes so Korean I opted.

All up it was around 130 clams, the sizzling seafood had the wax melting out of my ears and the nostrils flowing, it was very spicey, another table got the medium and they still couldn't eat that, the chicken was very nice and shitloads of it, the dude even suggested that we cut back on one of our selections as he doubted that we'd get through what we had ordered already, he was right.

All up it was a nice little place, the service was brilliant, didn't hang around pestering us or asking for feedback but made enough presence incase we needed him.

Solid 8, I rushed my order and there was better bang for my buck in hindsight, I did manage lunch for the next couple of days though.
