Eerie.

Eerie, is the perfect word for it, I remember playing circket out the front of my house watching the orange sky while my neighbours were freaking out as their son and his wife lived @ Eagle on the Hill and were uncontactable.

It equalled the eerieness of seeing a some ball lightning in the sky when I was about 13 and at cricket training, I was petrified as I had a 1 hour walk home through paddocks after training.

Monday :

GM tells every one he's here all week to listen to feedback and they'll make a decision on Friday where the branch is headed. Nobody believes him and they ask for their redundancy packages, they don't have anything prepared. Everyone goes home on full pay not knowing what their future holds and nothing is happening in factory, shit every where.

Tuesday :

They change their tune and now might keep 2 or 3 people on to make core products and 6 doesn't go into 2 so they'll sort out who stays. When they're told you can't make people redundant you make positions redundant they don't know what to say. Nobody is here, shit everywhere and customers calling for updates.

Wednesday :

We are told some white knights from Melbourne to work through work in progress will be here at 8am. Nobody is here. Nobody is in the factory. Shit is still everywhere. Customers are calling for updates and I tell them I don't know what's happening.

This is shambolic.

My parents purchased a block of land at Waterfall Gully about 7 years before Ash Wednesday. I was a baby at the time but apparently they were building a new home on the land but the builder kept delaying the start date and in the end they canned the build, sold the block and purchased a house in Valley View. The people who purchased the land but on it and I believe they had only moved in about 8 months before Ash Wednesday and lost everything in the fires

My home away from home, The Woodshed, for now at least is closing it's doors.

Ace has worked his arse off to build a dream and it's taken it's toll. He's a great bloke with a dream we have all shared in. I hope it's only "See you late" and not "Goodbye".

I never got there, and thats probably why its closing, not enough of us have. However any live music venue closing has a much wider impact than just the owners..very sad.
