I don't bet on anything digital.

Always sport.

I don't trust computers.

Vic TAB outlets have the same. You're going rough if you're punting on that shit.

They should bring back the horse racing game they used to have at the casino

Now there is a real rivalry.

Its funny in most cases most sets of fans with rivalries will acknowledge that without one another they would be missing something ala most Collingwood and Essendon fans wouldn't want to see the other not exist because they enjoy the battles.

NOT Rangers and Celtic, that is pure hatred through the generations based on religious beliefs, location and genuine cracking contests. Neither could care if the other one folded tomorrow.

Nothing compares to a genuine soccer rivalry!

Is that 6 years Rangers have been demoted?

Certainly one of the best rivalries in the world of sports

4 years.

They had a double promotion then got stuck in Division 2 for 2 seasons.

One of my more scary overseas adventures was waiting for a cab out the front of a pub, was a sight to behold women in their 50's swearing their head off better than a bogan family from Elizabeth......plus I was in Edinburgh a supposedly more classy city of Scotland

One of my favourite celtic rangers fan videos without violence or the dark side of football.

SAM Newman has jokingly referred to new Footy Show co-host Rebecca Maddern as “not good looking” and “plumpish” ahead of her debut appearance tonight.

The 70-year-old star of the long-running show has been his usual lighthearted, slightly-controversial self while promoting the addition of a female host and was no different during an appearance on breakfast radio in Adelaide on Thursday morning.

“Apparently she’s on tonight. The selection process was very, very testing,” Newman told Roo & Ditts For Breakfast. “We had to get someone who wasn’t that good looking so we didn’t put everyone’s nose out of joint. A bit plumpish.”

“She’ll be happy to hear that,” host Mark Ricciuto responded.

“Yeah, not good looking. A bit plumpish. Not a great IQ. Just so she fits in with the rest of the dynamic of our show.
“So people will be a bit surprised when they see her. They’ll think she’s coming on (because) she’s a glamour, but no, she’s pretty ordinary really.”

Newman has a reputation for taking a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants approach to each episode and that includes how he’ll approach his new cast member tonight.
“I’m not sure if she’s Mrs Maddern, I’m not sure what to call her,” he said. “She’s been married a couple of times someone said. I might discuss how she found matrimonial life because I can speak voluminously about that.”

Newman expects Maddern — and the rest of the show’s talent — to be criticised, regardless of what happens.

“She’s on an absolute kicking to nothing. It won’t matter what she did, she’ll be criticised and so will we for being patronising, or too tough on her, or her having too many things to say, or not enough. Mate, we love it. The critics will round us up like they have for 22 years and we’ll take no notice of them and push on,” he said.

“You’re not in business to please the critics, you’re in business to please the rank and file who listen.”

I actually think thats a good attitude by Sam.

Obviously she's in on the jokes, and its probably a good way to get the "rank and file" to accept her as one of the boys.

Listening to politicians being interviewed on the ABC. Heard Kate Ellis on this morning, Tony Jones had her stuttering like Porky Pig.

So with Bec Maddern making her much publicized debut on the The Footy Show I thought I could go one Thursday night without scrubbing the footpath out the front of the house and tune into the tripe.

About 5 minutes in it came to me why I gave up on it years ago.

Newmans advice to Cloke "Just go in and get the 'aggart. Forget everything else, just go in and get it".

Wise words, Sam, very good advice to the modern footballer, "just go in and get it".

Yep, Sam has no idea. Isn't Cloke's problem more to do with what he does with the pill once he gets it?

It's sometimes easy to forget that behind the flashy TV personality exterior and multiple facelifts that Newman is really just another cranky 70-odd year old that incessantly bangs on about and lives in the past.

I think you're being a bit hard on him...hang on, I mean I think he's a bit stiff....oops, well, Sam won't have a bar of this...

Bugger it. He's a cock.
