carey wrote:Ok so I'm after so advice/Help in finding a wedding venue. Been engaged for 5 years now and the Mrs is now putting it on me hard to get married in Feb 2018, Today we had walk throughs at Bird in Hand Winery, Marybank winery, Mount Lofty House, Glen Ewin estate and Utopia at water fall gully. Having a look at the Grange and Glenelg golf courses next week. Any help would be great were looking around the 120-140 guests.

Geez its going to cost plenty, With this being said The Grange golf course seems the cheapest but looks really nice. At this stage looks like no change out of about $30,000. Grange looks closer to $20,000 than $30,000 the rest are basically with $1,500 of each other all close to the $30k mark.

Ideally we'd like a venue to be a 'One stop shop type of thing' Ceremony, Photos and reception all at the one venue.

The boys have planned my bucks show (Well its basically a weekend yep we get on a 42 seater bus Friday and get home Sunday) The wedding should still be on after that........ I like were doing a race meeting some where! I think.

All your help/suggestions will be appreciated.

St Francis Winery at Old Reynella it is!

Now, Does anyone know of an Adelaide based cover band for hire? I would love a band (Pending the price of course) I cant imagine it would be all that dear? considering DJ costs anyway and I don't want a DJ so a band is my preferred option.

Thanks Guys all advice will be appreciated

Anyone know what event was happening on Franklin St./Waymouth St., east of Morphett St., this afternoon? Tried to park on Franklin St. around 3.00 in a vacant on-street park and I was waved off by a fellow in high-vis. Tried to do the same in Waymouth St. and the same thing happened. You could drive through the streets, just not park. There seemed to be a number of security people about, and I saw a couple of police later. Thought it could be people shooting a film or something? Seemed to be a bunch of people in the lane in between Franklin and Waymouth engaged in some sort of activity. I didn't carry on or anything but there were no signs or explanations or anything and you've got to have a good reason to close of public parking.

OK. Just trying to understand why that would require carparks to be unavailable on Weymouth Street without cones/witches hats, signs, etc.

It was filming for a chinese TV show and also the Franklin was the first pub in a an Oz Spurs national meetup on a double decker bus pub crawl which added more people to the area. We got front row seats watching the scene being filmed which involved a guy on a moped being chased by a biker.

Ah, that would explain one day last week when I had to drive into town after work, they blocked off Montefiore Road to film a moped riding down it with a drone above him, right on peak hour traffic, yeah I was pretty pissed off.

Whats a what what?

If betting on line you can fix or take the tote. If placing it at your TAB just check the fixed odds box.

If you take the tote now, it could be stuff all by jump time.

If the odds are too short I'll do some exotics, I'm not too familiar with a couple of the fields either, some horses that haven't met.

I think I love you.

I'm joining them today, paying $21 on something fixed that I'd imagine will jump at around 5 or 6's.

Yeah but if we take tote at the TAB now, it will crunch the price in but come jump time everyone backs everything else due to perceived overs and then ours actually drifts out, wins and pays over the odds...
