Yeah, fair enough, I haven't had much to do with Freight companies so wasn't really aware how prominent they were. Looks like other types of businesses are using them more often now too.

So you don't think the amalgamating schools should get the grant?

no but I know that each school that is merging is losing $260k a year in funding. No school can afford to lose this, the result will be larger class sizes, huge reduction of school sport/ music programs, and the loss of School Support Officers who are vital for student support in a classroom.

All schools are underfunded. I've been on our school's council and the amount of discretionary spend is minimal, so I agree that is a big issue.

The issue with regards to 'amalgamations' is that 24 school sites were getting 'extra' funding on the pretence that they housed two schools, when in reality there is only one.

Our school(s) has/have 350 students, so why there is a need for 2 principals is beyond me.

I think this has to happen to stop double dipping by these 24 sites, but the government still has to address the whole system with regards to equitable funding.

How much the Charles Sturt council is being paid (or individual councillors) for looking favourably on renaming the entire area of Woodville west of Woodville Rd as St Clair, to suit the developers of the new residential section.

The Woodville High School old scholars association is getting concerned as the school will then be in the rather wussy sounding St Clair district.

Not really cheap. Depending on volume and purpose, there is an alternative.

$5 shirt from kmart, buy some transfer sheets at office works and print your own design then iron it on. Finished up $10 each total.

We did that for 5 Christmas pub crawl shirts last year after not getting below $30 per (cheap, poor quality) t shirts at the shirt city.

Interesting idea, have started a 6 a side indoor cricket team with the guys from work. Was thinking something basic with our nicknames across the shoulders and team name at the bottom.

This would work a treat. Print whatever you like with different names on each page, cut them out to iron on different parts of the shirt.
