Hasn't stopped the debate about Ned Kelly going for 130 odd years :D

As for Biggs, obviously no hero. Thought his wife maintained a certain dignity in a TV program recently despite having been treated like rubbish by old Ron.

Or about Robin Hood for centuries: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_hood
It appears his turning into a good guy occurred centuries after his alleged existence contemporaneously with Richard the Lion Heart in the 12th century - Richard's reign was 6 July 1189 – 6 April 1199. Yet the first known literary mention contradicts this and puts him in the later 13th century.
The first mention of a quasi-historical Robin Hood is given in Andrew of Wyntoun's Orygynale Chronicle, written in about 1420. The following lines occur with little contextualisation under the year 1283:
Lytil Jhon and Robyne Hude
Wayth-men ware commendyd gude
In Yngil-wode and Barnysdale
Thai oysyd all this tyme thare trawale.

History lies...
