So the Mrs for my birthday dinner suggested we try a new venue.

The Cinnamon Kitchen
It looks like they have a restaurant at Ohalloran Hill and Seaford.
The reviews are pretty good on the whole. Main complaints were delivery was on the slow side.

So we made our way down to Seaford, fairly early as we were both quite hungry and ready to eat phar lap.

It's located in a little centre next door to a foodland.

Walk in, and it's quite underwhelming.
The interior is basic, a brown, wooden colour. 4 tables. None of which were set.
The gentleman at the counter was on the phone.
He was on the phone for an extended period of time.
We were then guided to a table to sit at with the takeaway menus
He came back to the counter, took another phone order for a few minutes before he organised our plate, cutlery.
The cutlery was, well, not as clean as it should be.
The aroma from the kitchen was nice, but the service wasn't satisfactory.
Why offer dine in, when clearly that is not what you want. It's not hard to set the tables, even just the paper/disposable table cloths. Just make it inviting.
We felt like we were an inconvenience, so we left.

So, heading back to Porties we thought we'd try Boonys.
Upon entry we were happily greeted, as we always are. They managed to fit us in, gave us a table under the heater, a prime location.

We kicked it off with the stuffed mushrooms which is always a winner.
The mains came from the ever changing Specials board.

A chicken Hawaiian parmi which was as expected nice and juicy.

I went the Battered burra rested on handmade wedges with aoli and a pesto. Never had Burra served in a batter that looked like a parcel.
And inside that batter was magnificent, mouth watering delicious white meat.

Absolutely full and content.
Boony delivers the goods yet again

Came home with some pieces of cake for dessert. Which may get a run at half time of the footy.

Good on you for walking out of the first place!

Too many people would have just stuck around, then had a terrible meal and wasted money

Had take-away from here when we stayed at Moana in summer. Was good basic Indian, not the worst I've ever had but not the best either. Still easier than cooking after a long day at the McLaren Vale wineries and breweries.

Thought I'd head out for something different last night so gave Kublai Khan another whirl.

Good experience, well priced and a decent range of drinks, well worth the visit.

A family owned business for 32 years where it seems like pop and dad cook, nan and mum serve and the son helps out too.

Used to love that place back in the 90’s, need to get back there. Great to hear it’s still going well

Still the same, only difference is that they hold your bowl and fill it for you.

Would be great for a bunch of blokes to down some beers and see how many bowls they can demolish.

Ended up at the Wellington, was good.

So many places wouldn’t take bookings of more than 6 or 10 people

Currently at the exclusive Barossa Weintel.
Mrs got a great state voucher and thought we'd travel up and see the great unvaxxed country.

Got a Spa room.
Room itself is fine, Spa is quite comfortable. Could jump into the spa from the bed if so desired...
So we went to the restaurant attached, Angus and Co steakhouse.
Mrs got a call to see if she wanted to book a table for dinner, the last table. So she snapped it up.
The restaurant was probably only 1/4 full

But moving along.

Garlic Bread $8 solid start to the night, well toasted x 3 pieces

Chicken parmigiana $27 - decent sized chook, well salted chips. Salad by all reports was tasty. The parmi had a hint of Cinnamon spice in it.
Got a rating 10/10

I went the crispy skin Salmon on $32, served on a delicious mash with garlic broccolini and a bernaise sauce.
The salmon just melted away. The skin was well salted also. Delicious. Solid effort. 8.5/10.
Washed down courtesy of 2 drink vouchers including a pint of Stella in a chalice.

Then dessert, the Mrs suggests we go and see what else is available in the area.
However it was at that point where I simply had to educate her that we hit the Quinella here with entrees and mains. Time to double down the investment into the dessert.
2 x sticky date puds with icecream $12 were simply divine and what was needed to top off the culinary experience. 10/10

Overall a very pleasant dining experience, even if we were perhaps told a furphy it was a good furphy.

“Salad by all reports was tasty” followed by “It was at that point where I simply had to educate her that we hit the quinella here…”
