Not in our state but I had to go to Yatala in Queensland for work, a dude from up there took me to the Yatala Bakery and I seen the pies were $7+, I thought WTF?

I should've tweaked to how busy they were and how many people worked there, these pies were brilliant, and huge.

Vey understandable, I wish I had of known about the place previously when I've taken my kids to the World's, it's close by, I'm hoping to get transferred there in a couple of years time when my youngest turns 18.

Yeah my personal fav but I’m biased as stonehut is where my family first settled when they moved to Australia.

Great if you have kids with the massive walk through bird Avery and mini petting farm.

Tuesday April 27th.

Popped into Sevenhill for lunch.
Not 100% sure what is happening on any of the days, so thought I would get in while there was an opening. Didn't want to be rushing around etc.
Got a spot in the cellar. Even for the non wine connoisseur the ambience down there is something else.

The food was on another level.
Even the garlic bread tasted good...
The Mrs went the chicken parmi and was salivating about it.
I went the barramundi which was in a red curry broth with noodles... bloody hell never had anything like it before and it was just magnificent. The first mouthful did pack a punch but, you did adapt to it.

We also shared a dessert and went the doughnut balls served with an icecream, kit kat crumble and a chocolate sauce... my word....

Also grabbed a bottle of Kilikanoon Prodigal granache as the Mrs did enjoy the granache from Seppeltsfield.

The service was also first class.

All up cost $127 with a couple of drinks.

Absolutely outstanding.


*update on the Grenache - a tick under $40 and apparently is an absolute winner!

If you have kids definitely head out to Wirrabarra, roughly 30 minutes on, they have some really cool silo art and the wirrabarra forrest is great for kids to explore and play. Alterntively Crystal Brook has Bowman Nature Park which another great picnic/lunch playground spot for children between 3-10.

Stayed in the Wirrabarra forrest school house with some mates and kids years ago across New Years weekend, was 40°+ each of the 3 days, no air con, we all took it in turns laying in one of those little plastic shell pools we found in the Booleroo store, we kept filling it with fresh water and bags of ice.

Shit weekend. Great memories.

Yeah you cant go wrong anywhere through the Mid North, love the beetaloo valley, we go there often and with the 3 kids have some of the most epic hide n seek, build shelter type games you can imagine. The kids absolutely love it.
