I used to make a decent vanilla slice.

I knew you’d be a custard between two hard pastries kind of operator.

I like to share my custard.

Dining in the Dark

Went last night to this experience.
The restaurant is on O'connell Street.
It's a cool little venue/bar.

Anyway to the experience itself.
Kicked off at 6pm.
About 20mins later you then put on blindfolds. It's a 90min service of 3 courses.
Not long after, entrees arrives.
You do your best to try and eat as normal as possible with the knife and fork provided. However you soon realise, the only cutlery needed is what God provided us with...and you fumble around the plate with fingers trying to find goodies.
Quite amusing was during the mains a fellow patron recognised Pork crackling and soon the restaurant knew all about it[emoji3][emoji3]
Twice I went to go back to the plate to check with my fingers whether I had missed anything and the stealth like waitress/waiters had taken them...

At the end of the night you are given a menu of what you had eaten.[emoji33]
When booking you get the choice of Seafood, Meat, vegetarian options.

It certainly is a different and unique experience. I Won't reveal finer details, in case anyone is going or decides to go in the future.

Food was tasty.
Service was really good.
Good fun.

Should add, I think entrees contained 2 items.
Mains 3
Dessert 3

Will have to confirm that later on

Were clothes optional here?

Was trying to find the discussion about the Bond Street Distillery in Wallaroo.

Wow, what a place, I made the silly mistake of stopping in there at a spur of the moment as I had already had a couple of beers at a mates house @ Tickera and was going to cook a surf "n" turf once I got back to base @ Port Vincent.

The place looks immaculate, the gin tasted superb and the two entree dishes we had were top notch, could easily spend an arvo in there getting on it, definitely will do when my mates place is complete and I spend a weekend up there.

Yeah I went there a couple of weeks ago.
Had 2 sessions there.

Bloody good isn’t it.

Oath, I could do a few sessions there, may even stay at Wallaroo in the future to do a few runs there, I reckon it would be chockers on a Saturday or Sunday.

The Bond Store in Wallaroo gets a tick from me as well. Well priced/made craft beer and good food. Even my teenaged kids liked it!

Update on Sevenhill,
We mentioned it to the neighbours over a few drinks when we returned.
They knew a couple who were going to Clare and mentioned it based on our review.
Again it got good feedback. Mostly about how good the schnitty is.

Nope, but if it’s anything like their trivia nights it’ll be heaps of fun

Mamma Carmela - Jetty Road, Glenelg

With reduced capacity we found ourselves in the back end of the shop in a space that would normally house 20 or so people with just our table of 10. Perfect.

Bruschetta en tree - Two nice pieces of crunchy bread, good serving of fresh tomato and basil, good extra virgin olive oil used.

Mrs Boon - Fettuccini Al pollo. Nice big serve, nice bowl, actually, I'm not a big pasta fan but I could eat that. $25

I went the S&P squid. My word. 3 good portions of tube, feathered out to curl up and go crispy, one nice little serving of the smaller tentacles, proper squid. Big, chunky chips on the side, side salad good 50/50 mix of lettuce and tomato, cucumber and olives. Nothing worse than all lettuce and no substance. $25

Pales nice and cold, good choice of beer glass supplied, squealing pig Rose kept the lady wife happy. Got a lift with Mother so no driving, I banged down 5 pales in 90 minutes.

Good atmosphere, good location for a stroll after to ease the meal down, food on the better end of the good scale.

Food - 8/10
Ambiance - 8/10
Value - 8/10

Give it a whirl, the pizzas looked excellent.

You'd think they'd branch out and add a couple of Bay leaves.
