thought it would also be worth starting up a thread for when we get good service. i wonder how many companies will end up in both threads haha. (adam internet?)

anyway, i just thought i would give a shoutout to ultimate wood heaters and gas log fires, main north road enfield. we had been in there a couple of times just for looking, first time was about 6 months ago, and the guy actually remembered us from then, but we finally bought the fire from them a couple of weeks ago.

they have been a pleasure to deal with, extremely helpful in just about every way. I havent actually installed the fire yet, so i cant attest to the quality yet (ha) but we bought a gas log fire, and we werent sure of the fascia that we wanted. so they basically said it doesnt matter, take that one home and see what you think, if you want another one let us know and we will just swap it over.

so i just got off the phone to them then, and after checking they had a different one in stock, they were more than happy to just swap it over for nothing.

great customer service goes a long way.

I guess we could call such companies "grey listed"...

I'm talking about their trade stuff. Their prices are the same as Milwaukee, AEG and Metabo but their quality is well below those brands.

Unsure whether a Black List or a White List company, but i rang up and cancelled Foxtel yesterday. Was happy enough to let it go, with the wife on maternity leave etc.
Of course i expected a call from them, trying to retain.

Ended up getting Essentials, Sport, Entertainment, Movies, and one HD box for $32 a month.
Almost offers value for money.

On my black list, if Foxtel.

Full package, IQ included for over 8 years. Moved to our new house, re-connected, a year later called to cancel.

"Thanks for that, we'll pick the box up in the next 4-7 business days".

Not a cracker, no attempt at retaining my business, nothing.

was the call to cancel a deliberate attempt to get a reduction in cost?

Nope, it was to cancel the service. Not once did they even offer a month free to rethink etc.

Have had foxtel continuously since it started here in August 1996, maybe a phone call to get a better deal would be a good idea
