However, I do sometimes listen to the football on other stations when in my car - about the only time the car radio is used..
I'm not sure whether I ever tuned in to SAFM...

Can you even receive FM on your cat's-whisker set?

I bought my first FM receiver when the first FM station in SA was launched and plugged it through the HiFi sytem in the living room which included eight 10" bass speakers and 10 small electrostatic plates (each 125mm square and carrying an 1100 Volt DC bias).

I built my last "cat's whisker" set when I was 13 in a tiny bottle just for fun, just before I moved on to explosives.

Can you imagine How funny "How Green was my Cactus" would be if they re-invented it now?

How Green was my Cactus is still around, syndicated on country AM stations like 5CS and 5CC.
"Two and a Half Bogans" and "Sandra Silly" make weekly appearances.

I have never listened to JJJ.

I'm loving MIX at the minute, with my only gripe being they tend to flog some songs to death but it's a good mix of young and old.

MMM was getting a bit bogany for a while and I was sick of listening to non stop Chisel and ACDC.

If I want some real classics, I've discovered Coast FM, they play 50's, 60's and 70's GOLD.

I listened to SAFM, when I was 12.

891, ABC FM and Three D for me, along with Double J and an array of digital radio stations I access through my HET.
