Given it is all the same strain of the virus and this strain only has a 3 day lifecycle, then I think the 6 days makes a lot of sense.

Provided people follow the rules two cycles has shown to be fairly effective in killing it off.

Obviously anyone who tests positive should still do a 14 day lockdown, but for those of us in the general population, 6 days has some logic behind it.

So we are not allowed to do any running, walking, go for a bike ride, walk the dog at a park, around the block or local area as of midnight tonight?

Correct, what an absolute disgrace, this is harsher than Melbournes lockdown. What's wrong with an hours exercise??? Massive mental health issue.

Im charging up my bike lights right now, going to do a huge ride tonight.

12:30 PM I walked to the local dog roll shop for lunch. Walked past the local Coles. Modest crowd there, business as usual.

1:00 PM got home to hear the news. Thought I'd better get back down to the supermarket for a few essentials and beat the rush.

1:10 PM - sweet Jeebuz! Car park full, cars parking in the surrounding streets. A queue snaking out of the front and around the corner. Not too bad inside; most people being highly respectful of each other.

1:45 PM got to the BWS down the road for more essentials. Another queue snaking around the corner - and a queue for the checkout inside the premises.

From normal to armageddon in the space of half an hour. Amazing.

Some of the folks in the queue at the BWS I just visited were of the opinion that bottleos were shutting. Hence they picked the BWS over the supermarket :D

People complaining about the no exercise... It's 6 days FFS.

Go for a run, a ride, walk the dog tonight and stop the whinging.

No need, most popular beer here. I might lock the front bar doors soon in case there's a riot.

I'm going to the supermarket tonight not taking the chance they might not be open tomorrow.

They can't shut supermarkets.

I know yeah I typed the wrong thing I meant who knows if there will be anything left tomorrow etc
