I found it pretty quick - I just tap on the names and it autofills and then the verification code pops up top of my phone and get message "xxxxxx from messages?"

I must admit though, I thought it would just scan and auto check in and that be that.. the verification and filling out name/number is dumb.

My SMS notification doesn’t show the verification code, so have to skip out of the App for a few secs, by the time I return it’s lost the progress and starts all over again.

If i just try and use the camera it forces me to use the App lol. Would be easiest to just piss the App off but I like having my license details on there. 1st world problems I guess, I’m sure I’ll get through it :D :-BD

I only had to do my name / number at my first check in yesterday, my other two were just scans.

Same same.
So easy and quick.
Initial verifivation is easy as it is for other apps on my Google Pixel 5 as I have the option to auto copy the code from sms's.

Having said that, the next 3 days in the front bar will be fun, can see a lot of pen and paper being used. Most of the regulars struggle with sms let alone apps.

Yup, app is working well now it is up and running.

Anyone know what time for todays press conference.
Not sure we need one but they'll want to announce how well things are working no doubt.

Not sure what I can do differently lol. The Receptionist at my neuro looked at me like i was daft (not entirely wrong I will concede), then whipped around to show me how to do it and immediately remarked “oh, that’s weird, here’s a pen for our list” lol

Agreed, as I was setting up the registration process it would restart everytime I exited the app, bloody annoying.

Ok, I'll try and help.

One of two ways to resolve this:

1) Once you check in and it asks you for the code to confirm, ignore the text message, just click on the box to type the code in and it should pop up as a suggested response from your text messages (iphone is reading your incoming messages before you can even look at it yourself!).

If that doesn't work, it's a bit of a longer process but should help:

1) go into your settings and change it so that text messages show the preview (banner preview).
2) scan in and this time as the message comes in, you'll be able to see the code as it arrives, its 6 digits so either remember it as it flashes up quickly or have a pen ready to go to write it down while it is still on the screen (approx 5 seconds).
3) type it in and confirm.

Obviously if you want to after you've done that, you can go back to your settings and change your messages to not display the preview.

Also, you only have to confirm via text once so don't worry that you need to do the above every time!

I tried to scan the Woolies and BWS codes and nothing happens. Apparently they aren't part of the SA Gov App. If that's the case, how the **** do you do it?

Just use your normal QR reader which is a part of your phone's camera and it takes you to a webpage to enter your details. I tried it a few mins ago and it works but it's more painful than using the app on approved codes.
I have a BWS one metre away from me and ironically they're using the code in my front bar instead of their own to check in.

My phone is old and the qr reader isnt part of my camera.

But I'm yet to try it. Been at home self isolating.

Confidenti-f*cking-ality my arse.

The man accused of lying about a job and forcing South Australia into an unnecessary three-day lockdown will not face any criminal charges.

South Australian police said there was not enough evidence to prove an offence has occurred.

Police said SA Health refused to provide details of their conversations to police.

A taskforce — with 20 detectives — was established to investigate after it was revealed the man lied about working at a pizza bar and instead said he had only been there to pick up a takeaway order.

It led authorities to believe that the strain of the virus was especially contagious, which led to locking down the state.

After the lie was uncovered, SA Premier Steven Marshall promised to "throw the book" at the worker.
