The other week it was raised about what we are cooking up and some in here run a proper restaurant at home with 3 slow cookers working overtime.

So I thought perhaps we needed a dedicated thread with your favourite recipes.
From the lamb shanks of winter to the cream cheese filled jalapenos at a BBQ in summer.
Share your fav little hidden butchers and shops.

Share your recipes so we can all eat like kings!

I've been using the slow cooker once a week for lunches to get me through, I've been waiting for beef cheeks to go on special somewhere and they finally did at Specialty Foods so I made the trip there yesterday.

1.5 kg of beef cheeks, popped over to Dan Murphy's to grab a cleanskin red for it to bath in overnight on a low heat, added a carton of beef stock with some minced garlic cloves, cajun powder and other spices I have.

I put it on around 6pm last night, gave it a bit of a jab around 10pm and thought "shit, I better have a back up plan" as it still seemed quite tough.

Got up this morning and it fell apart just grabbing it with the tongs..................................sensational!!!!!!!!

Gonna go grab another couple of kilo's before the weekend to keep in the freezer, $16 per kilo is good going.

Mrs Boon made scones in the air fryer last week, they were sensational. I'll get the recipe.

My old man dropped me off some chicken livers, bacon, onion and chilli (and a few other ingredients) that had been done in the slow cooker on Sunday. One of my favourite meals. Especially with creamy mashed potato and a bottle of red wine. The way he cooks it is bloody amazing.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Cooked up some premium scotch fillets on Saturday night then added lobster tails and prawns that I simmered in a hollandaise sauce with fresh minced garlic, needless to say it was pretty amazing.

I needed to cook a whole turkey so I squished him in my slow cooker around 7pm Saturday night and turned him off around 8am, I couldn't even get it out of the slow cooker as it was so tender, the bones fell out as I grabbed them, I'll never roast a turkey again.

The kids and I are making turkey pies this evening as there is no way in the world I'll be able to get through all the meat.

Pork ribs :

3 nice racks of ribs, made a foil boat and put the ribs in, about 1/4 of a cup of apple juice in each parcel making sure they were well sealed, nothing was escaping.

Cooked at 120°c for 3 hours, opened them up and put the grill on high. Basted them with a Jack Daniels Sticky BBQ sauce 3 times over around 30 minutes, let them sit in the oven, grill off for about 20 minutes.

Nom nom.

As the nurse at covid testing said I am dying of manflu
So I thought I'd have a return to a brekky I enjoyed in my childhood, especially if it's one of the last meals I am going to enjoy.

Weetbix x 4
Bit of boiled water over the top to soften them up
A tablespoon or 3 of condensed milk
Milk

My previous wife was part French and a gourmet cook.

After she died in 2008 I realised I had never cooked in my life beyond barbecuing the odd chop. My new wife was a TV Producer and an actress, plus a Marriage Celebrant, and a Rotarian and a family run Child Care Centre manager - she doesn't cook much either.

Thank God for LIte and Easy!
Mind you in 2008 I weighed 115Kg and I'm now 86Kg.
