You'll need winter woolies, beanie, extra gloves, two pairs of socks, a couple of towels to dry the clubs and don't worry about the SPF30+

Have fun lads!!!

Golf in windy conditions can piss right off!

Although I was surprised to see a email this morning that my mum posted a score in the Lexus Cup yesterday  fair effort and it was half decent too...

How are courses holding up in Adelaide this winter? Some of the 'private' courses over here in Melbourne are in shocking condition, yet you still see electric carts on the course...

I wandered over to my local 9 hole public course yesterday, Wattle Park in Melbournes Eastern Suburbs.

It was dead quiet and in perfect nick. I think they only employ 1 part time greenskeeper. They only irrigation is on the tees and greens so it gets pretty quick in summer...

And gues what, Electric carts are banned here! Not a spick of mud on the entire course.... I really wonder why courses allow carts at all??

View from the 215m Par 3  The flag is waaay down the middle left of the photo.

I am intrigued as to how you lose a ball on the 9th? Did you go right off the tee and close to the water?? and by going right I mean GOING RIGHT!

Yep, squeezed it right (with a 9 iron FFS) which clipped the tree and disappeared. Didnt hear a splash or thud. May well still be in the tree!

Absolute shocker.

I've done that with my 5 iron on the 11th at Royal Thaxted. Sliced it harder than a butcher cutting down a pig, and it ended up on the 3rd fairway. My 2nd shot was longer than the original tee shot.

Been there also, negative meters off the tee

Would have been about 11 or 12 and on a par 5 I topped my tee shot and it caught the lip of the raised tee box. If we didn't hear it hit a tree about 80m behind us we never would have found it

Ha ha- a mate of mine teed off at Echunga on the 5th and blazed it low over the dam and into the ladies tee with a rock retaining wall at the back of it. Ricochet came straight back at him with pace, without hesitating he dropped the driver, took the catch and threw it skywards.

Funny stuff. Also saw my stepdad (RIP) french cut one between his legs on a tee shot once. Gold.

Saw my mates old man, on the 1st at North Haven and as a left hander, hit it at 90° to where he was aiming.

He toed it right off the end of the driver and it went as clean as a whistle through the cyclone wire fence, hit the train line and bounce back into the dead centre of the ladies tee ahead of us.

As quick as a whip he said - "Guess it's a sign from above. I'm actually a bitch!"

Played the Vines for the first time ever yesterday. Even 100  had 1 par all day on the 17th. I lay the blame at walking the entire 18 holes for the first time in 5 months....

Nice course in good condition given the wintry conditions in the past few weeks.

Had 153 over 27 holes yesterday in the Balaklava Open. Started with a 55 on the front 9 but stuck at it and hit some good shots to finish reasonably well for a 25 handicapper.
Course doesn't have much run, no orphan there I guess, which makes it tough going for a track with no bunkers. A fair few golfers struggled actually.

Nice day for it though.

My apologies to mattee g for not seeing his ball in the middle of the 2nd fairway. ...not something you expect to see from the 17th

Could be worse....I fired a bullet from the 17th at the vines last Sunday and it went through a gap in the trees about 1m wide and ended up on the 15th
