Round one currently underway and after nine holes, John Daly leads at -5. He should be suited by the course and conditions, but still a long, long way to go. Australian John Senden has had a blistering start, at -4 after 11 holes.
Final group to tee off just after midnight, SA time.

Rory McIlroy sits in the clubhouse leading at -9

Tiger Woods lurking ominously, at -6 after 15 holes.

John Daly in the clubhouse at -6, John Senden currently the best placed Australian, finishing at -4, with Jason Day on -2 after 13 holes.

We've just had the weather forecast for tomorrow (Friday) here and it's not brilliant...2 systems joining forces south of St Andrews and heading north towards me with a fair bit of rain and wind.

Here's the Met Office page for the Open if you want to keep an eye on it. For those who don't know the geography St Andrews is on the east coast just below Dundee (look for the sliver/grey cup)

Only an hour of highlights at midnight, unfortunately.

Second round has been in progress nearly 5 hours. Louis Oosthiuzen leading on -12, in the clubhouse.

Ricky Barnes currently equal second on -9 (-5 for the day) after 13, with McIlroy teeing off later tonight. Paul Casey making a charge with -5 today, -8 overall after 11 holes.

Australian John Senden to tee off shortly on -4.
