Melbourne United have announced the return of Matthew Dellavedova on a 2 year deal after playing in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings last season.

Basketball Australia have announced a "Boomers vs the World" 3 day event in August involving games against Brazil, Venezuela and South Sudan in the lead up to the FIBA World Cup later that month.

The 36ers have announced the signing of American born, newly naturalised Aussie Alex Starling to a 1 year deal. He's a 6'6" forward who has dominated in the SA state league for nearly a decade now. Currently playing for defending champions South Adelaide he's the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and GF MVP and has won three championships, two league MVP's and three DPOTY awards.

Starling originally came out to Australia to play footy for the Sydney Swans who identified him as an international prospect. He also originally came to Adelaide to train with Port Adelaide in the SANFL.

The NZ Breakers have signed Next Star Mantas Rubstavicius from Lithuania. He's a 6'7" forward who played in the EuroCup and Lithuania last season and is projected to be a second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft,

Also Brisbane Bullets Danish-born guard Rasmus Bach has announced his retirement at just 27. He played three seasons in the NBL the first two with the NZ Breakers and played a couple of seasons in Denmark before that.

The Sydney Kings have announced the signing of former Boomer Jonah Bolden to a one-year deal. The 6'8" PF makes his comeback to the sport three years after he retired at the age of 25 to pursue a career trading cryptocurrency and previously played in the NBA with Philadelphia & Phoenix.

The Sydney Kings have announced the signing of their new coach Mahmoud Abdelfattah. He won a G-League championship and the Coach of the Year award in 2022 and spent last season as an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets in the NBA.

The Tasmania JackJumpers have now announced the signing of their third import Jordon Crawford to a one-year deal. He's a 5'6" PG who was the leading scorer in Turkey last season.

Also today was the NBA Draft and former 36er Mojave King was drafted by the LA Lakers with the 47th pick who then traded his rights to the Indiana Pacers. King played in the G-League last season. Frenchman Rayan Rupert who played for the NZ Breakers last season was drafted by the Portland Trailblazers with the 43rd pick.

As well a number of NBL players have signed with NBA teams to play in the NBA Summer League in July in Sacramento, Utah and Las Vegas.

The Illawarra Hawks have announced the signing of their third import Gary Clark to a one-year deal. He's a 6'6" PF who has played in the NBA with five different teams and played in the G-League last season.

Also the Sydney Kings have announced the signing of a Next Star local Alex Toohey. The 19 year old 6'8" forward who has previously played for the Boomers had committed to Gonzaga but has instead decided to turn pro and has been playing at BA's Centre of Excellence in the NBL1 East.

The Illawarra Hawks have signed forward Todd Blanchfield to a 2 year deal who returns to the Hawks for a second stint with the team after playing for the Perth Wildcats the past few seasons.

The 36ers have announced the signings of their Development Players for this season, Fraser Roxburgh who returns as a DP again currently playing for West Adelaide in the local league, Akeck Aliir who is playing for North Adelaide after playing for the Canberra Gunners last year and half-brother of Port Adelaide AFL star Aliir Allir, Harvey White who plays for Sturt and the previously signed Keanu Rasmussen also playing for Sturt and played his college ball at California Baptist.

Also former NBL import Cecil Exum, father of Dante has passed away at the age of 60. He played in the NBL from 1989-1996 with North Melbourne Giants, Melbourne Tigers and the Geelong Supercats. He won an NCAA championship with North Carolina in 1982 where he was a teammate of Michael Jordan & James Worthy and was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the 1984 NBA Draft.
