Point the finger all you like and say "that's worse" (the outcome isn't mind you) but neither was within the rules. Neither was within the spirit. You can try to condone what the bloke did all you like but you just look like you have no understanding of the game. This isn't footy where that is allowed in some circumstances and can be expected. You stick your arm out like that in basketball expecting, rightly, not to have it ripped out of joint.
I disagree with this... the ball wasn't out of play, there was the ability for Olynyk to allow his player a chance to impact the contest and win the ball (which he did)
Of course it's a shame that Love had his shoulder injured, but to claim as Love has, that Olynyk intentionally hurt him is crap... Was it a foul, of course, was an intentional foul, yes, was it a flagrant foul, I don't think so in my opinion. Did he intentionally try to hurt Love, absolutely not.
I ask the question, do players tie up in the low post when rebounding all the time. Yes, do people get injured from it, occasionally.
Do players expect to be punched in the face, deliberately, while the ball is on the other side of key and heading away... Yeah Nah...
Interesting, because my opinion is different to yours, I look like I "have no understanding of the game"... Hhhhmmmmmmmm interesting concept.
Again, it's a shame that Love was injured in a tie up fighting for a rebound, and to miss the rest of the finals is very unfortunate, but in my opinion it wasn't as bad as a deliberate punch in the face...
You disagree, such is life...
