Unfortunately the 36ers went down to in-form Wollongong 105-104 in double OT on Day 1 of the NBL's pre-season tournament in Dandenong. For the Hawks Rhys Martin had 24 and Dave Gruber 19 and for the 36ers Daniel Johnson had 32 and Luke Schenscher 15.

In other results tonight Perth def Sydney 97-70. For the Wildcats Shawn Redhage had 20 & Matthew Knight 14 and for the Kings James Harvey had 19 and Ben Madgen 14.

Melbourne defeated Cairns 78-74. For the Tigers Liam Rush had 19 and former 36ers Adam Ballinger & Matt Burston each had 16 and for the Taipans imports Jamar Wilson & Shane Edwards lead the way with 18 & 13 respectively.

Also New Zealand def Townsville 71-66. CJ Bruton, Mika Vukona & Corey Webster all had 13 for the Breakers and Ben Allen led the Crocs with 14. You would think there might start to be a few questions being asked of Crocs imports Jason Forte & Curtis Withers, neither has yet scored in double figures in all three of the Crocs pre-season games and Forte shot a horrendous 1/8 on FT in their previous game too.

In Day 2 results at the NBL's pre-season tournament the 36ers had a tight win over Sydney 96-90. For the 36ers Daniel Johnson led the way with 24 & Jason Cadee had 19 and for the Kings Corin Henry had 21 and James Harvey & Darnell Lazare each scored 16.

New Zealand defeated Cairns 83-75. For the Breakers Cedric Jackson had 19, Alex Pledger 18 & Will Hudson 17 and for the Taipans Clint Steindl had 22.

In a surprise Perth only just beat Melbourne 70-67. Shawn Redhage leading the Wildcats with 24 and Bennie Lewis with 19 & Seth Scott 17 for the Tigers.

Perhaps a measure of where both teams are at the moment Wollongong flogged Townsville 75-53. Daniel Jackson had 14 for the Hawks and Jacob Holmes also lead the Crocs with 14.

“The Adelaide 36ers are pleased with the news today that confirms Basketball SA will submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Adelaide Arena. The 36ers will work to attract commercial partnerships in support of their EOI and will also continue to urge Governments, at all levels, to contribute the necessary funding. Basketball, collectively, cannot do this alone.”
“The Adelaide Arena is home to the Adelaide 36ers, Adelaide Lightning, Basketball SA and SA Country Basketball and the fact is there is no other venue in South Australia that can accommodate us throughout the year. It is an outstanding 7800-seat venue – one of the best in the country - that is not only used for Basketball but for a wide range of sports.”
“Rest assured, the Adelaide 36ers will be doing everything it can over the coming weeks and months to see it remain in the hands of sport.”
