It seems the Perth Wildcats are offering heavily discounted nbl.tv subscriptions through their website even for non-members.

$50 (normally $89) or $40 with a merchandise purchse.

Seems like it's going to be a long year for the 36ers, as usual we don't replace quality (Johnson) with likewise quality. Joey Wright is a proven coach and I have no doubt he will get the best out of this group, who would be rated average at best.

Unfortunately these days Adelaide based teams lack the determination and finances to be a title contender year in and out.

They were terrible tonight...

No hustle or support on offense
Absolutely terrible on the boards...
To many easy, open shots for the Taipans...

It certainly was a disappointing performance by the 36ers and they really need to bounce back against the Crocs in Townsville tomorrow. Unfortunately I think our lack of size is going to be an issue all season and we really could've done with a Luke Nevill before the Hawks snapped him up at the 11th hour.

If I were tipping I'd be 0-3 already with Cairns beating the 36ers at home where we only lost once all last season, the Breakers upsetting Perth in Perth and then Wollongong beating the Crocs at home last night too.

Big news with Chris Anstey sacked as Melbourne United coach after the first game!

Supposedly assistant coach Darryl McDonald is going to take over on an interim basis.

Melbourne United has removed Chris Anstey as coach of the club after their 89-61 loss to Cairns Taipans on Sunday.

United was just one game into the season and played without star import guard Stephen Dennis, who was recovering from a minor knee injury.

It is not clear whether Anstey has left the position or been fired with the club meeting with its players this afternoon and issuing a statement later today.

But the scope of the loss and frustrations with Anstey by senior people in the club led to the team making a surprise change on Monday.

Unfortunately the 36ers lost to the NZ Breakers in Auckland tonight 101-80.

Aside from an 8-0 start to the game the 36ers were never in it and after being 26 down at 3-qtr time rallied in garbage time to get the deficit down to about 10 before the Breakers went on with it again.

36ers out-rebounded 48-31.

Cairns Taipans Stephen Weigh named player of the week for Round 2.

Should've been Brian Conklin, IMO.
