16 Aussies qualify for the main draw of Wimbledon, the highest since 1995.

Shows tennis in australia is well and truly back after a decade or so of Lleyton (and to a lesser extent Stosur) carrying the whole country.

The other thing i found interesting was that we have 10 players in the top 100, and Hewitt wasnt one of them!

Hopefully someone can make a deep run.

Kyrgios showing a bit of fight here, just saved two match points.

Still finding it hard to get out of his own head though, chatting to himself every other point.

Probably just lacks the maturity to really buckle down when things aren't going well, but jeez he has talent. Third time into the second week of a grand slam as a (just) 20 year old is great.

Glad to hear because his antics in the 2nd were a disgrace

Disagree he is a disgrace. People simultaneously bag someone when they are an individual like he is, and then yearn for players to not be fedbots

He is young and will mature in time. Compare him to Djokovic, Murray, Hewitt, even Federer at that age and he isn't much different.

He isn't a disgrace. But his court manner in the second was.

Hope he learns.

Towards the end of the set when he was well down he basically refused to play and gave up.
I didnt say he was a disgrace overall, I quite like him. Just thought his effort in the second set showed a total lack of respect and was a disgrace, big differance

4-3 up in a tiebreak to save the match and Gasquet has an unsuccessful challenge and umpire says 3 remaining and he stops Gasquet from serving to say the scoreboard still says 4.

Then comes out and plays two massive points.

Weirdo, but so watchable.

Now a double fault on set point!

And then hits a second serve halfway up the net.

Really needs to gather it here or he will lose the match.

And another double fault on match point to lose it.

Lost his head completely after one bad point. That will come with maturity but it was great to watch

Do Tennis Australia conduct compulsory full time Dickhead Training or is it an elective?
