We've had NBN and Wimax through Adam before, and this is the first problem we've had with them. They're sending a technician next Tuesday to have a look.

We didn't pick where to live based on how fast I could download Big Booty Bitches #7.

Things like the house, the neighbourhood, how close necessities are, how close the footy club is, etc, were more important than having NBN.

It looks like a lot of people on Adam are having problems, mainly attributed to the changeover from Adam to iiNet.

Yeah Optus told my missus they would pay out our contract with Adam if we wanted to switch to them. We don't really want to, but I'm thinking about seeing if other ISP's do similar.

Nuskope were going to give me $100 setup and no contract (instead of $300/24months)

They also had double the data allowance and good purported speeds, according to the whirlpool thread at least. Thinking of giving them a go, not much to lose if I run back to Adam with my tail between my legs.

Have been with them for about 8 years and they have been good to me though.

Adam have been good to me, until now. Its so frustrating. We were thinking about getting Fetch TV through them, but with download speeds and drop outs that we currently have, its pointless.

I can't even watch things on Youtube above 480p...and even then the auto feature sometimes sets it to 240p or 180p just to keep going.

I also really want NFL Season Pass, but wont bother paying for it when streaming is shithouse.

Fair chance it is the cabling to your house that is rubbish

Adams already conceded it is their problem.

As Im obviously not up to speed with the lingo, Im not exactly sure what he was saying. The part I did understand was "yeah, it looks like it's something on our end"...I'll take his word for it.

They've booked someone to come out to have a look anyway, but he's gonna try to solve it from his end first if he can. Then just cancel the call-out if its fixed in time.

Nope, did a bundle with house phone, foxtel, and internet. Came out cheaper then paying for them separate. Internet change from 50gb/month to 200gb/month and speed jumped 4 times then when I was with Adam. To date have never had to ring them for nothing.

Adams contractor came out yesterday and told me it was a Telstra problem.

Telstras contractor came out today, was here for 20 mins, worked on something across the road, and our speed went from 800kbps to 7.6mbps. THEN he said to call Adam coz they have reduced our speed to keep us with at least some internet. After 15 mins on the phone we now have 13mbps.

130% improvement...im happy with that!!! :)

As Benny indicated earlier, a cabling issue ...

yep, usually happens when they either do work in a pit nearby, or something else happens to your line - pit fills with water, dodgy connection, crosstalk between that line and another, etc etc.

i wish i got that speed ( and i mean the 800k  )

supposedly nothing wrong with any of the lines (apart from being 100 years old or whatever) its just the best my area can get.

to add insult to injury i just checked the nbn rollout map. supposedly my neighbour is listed as rollout planning stage, yet my house is nothing planned yet.... obvioulsy the colourbond fence between our properties has magical internet blocking ability. south end of the street is getting it, from my place north, nada.

ive already sent the nbn co a pleading email to be included, not that i think it will do any good. next plan will be slipping the work crews however many cartons it takes....

At the house that I recently purchased, the previous owner had cable internet through Telstra, so I have signed up with them. I'm looking forward to an affordable deal that's fairly comparable to NBN.

I'm not sure what to do with my old ADSL modem (Nettcom NB6Plus4W) - that I had with Iprimus.... would it be worthwhile trying to sell it (I'm assuming it would be of no real use to anyone). Is there somewhere I can take it to recycle in same as the old style TV sets?
