The tigers seem to have about twenty coaches on the sidelines that seem they all know better. Any club that recruits players and then proceeds to appoint a coach afterwards is a bit backward if you ask me.Two recruits i speak of came to about four pre season trainings. One pulled a hamstring round 2 and the other dissapeared into thin air after round one . What sort of idea does this send to the playing group? Opitz bleeds black and gold and loves the club and it's people to no end. Playing over 200 games being involved in 2 premierships and minor premiers multiple times i think he knows what it takes to be on top. Bad habits take a while to get rid of just like smoking. Once the playing group understand what type of committment needs to be undertaken to get to the top things will turn around . We are not far off and the comp has got a lot better over the last few years. Unlike the other clubs we do not have a big town to draw from so therefore we must recruit wisely,we have no choice. There are some promising colts in the ranks to slot in the seniors next year, couple these guys with the right attitude and good pre season numbers and the tigers will be growling again in 2011. And then all you blokes will love to hate us even more, including all those clowns running around in white who call themselves umpires.

Yes, everyone knows the problems for any coach out there. I guess the question he would have to ask himself is this: Is he prepared to do it again if certain things off the field don't change?? As has been previously mentioned, it's all very well for these blokes on the sidelines to give their two bobs worth when it's not their neck on the line. But then not everyone can have a president with such a good relationship with the coach as we do!

As for my original query, it was more a crack at the way things are done out at the water tower than at Trav himself, who as a fellow Essendon supporter I have a lot of time for! We've gotta stick together in these difficult times! And I also don't want us to be the only club to change coaches mid-season!

I find this interesting Gribbles (if you are referring to United), considering we appointed Travis earlier this year than any other year since I have been around. I believe Travis was announced as coach very early in October.

It could've been worse than 81 points Swamp if we had made the most of the breeze in the 3rd quarter. To the Tigers' credit though, they stopped us playing a bit in that 3rd quarter and were certainly the most committed they'd been for the game. It all went out the window in the last quarter though... P. Burgoyne didn't make the journey north, even though he was on the original draft of the team sheet, and then crossed out. No big Chugger to help out Will Banton either. Also conspicuous by his absence was one J. Rundle. Anyone know what he was up to?

I heard he went to a fat farm in Queensland. Apparently there were pictures of Lance Whitnall in the entrance on the way in!

Anthony Johnston is a quality footballer, has been very good for the Rams since switching from South Gawler in BL&G. Hopefully he has a quite day on Saturday :D AKA was Johnston suspended for not making himself available for the Association match? If that is the case he is still still eligible for the medal. Wilkey will probably poll the most votes for Virginia and im tipping a top 3 finish. Niklaus will probably take a few votes off Wilkey, but Fog Horn will give A.Johnston odds of $11.00 to win the Producer Medal and apologies for leaving Johno out!

Interesting question that came up at footy training Tuesday night whilst doing our warmup.

Who would you pick if you had to pick just 1 player out of Jazz and Joel? Different players I know, but I would pick Jazz.
