duck-man, I have followed up Smasha's query regarding donations from companies and supplying them with tax receipts. As we are not set up to provide tax receipts, I've done a bit of digging around and have come up with a solution. ;)

The relief fund we are donating to (so I'm led to believe) is The Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal, so if any companies or businesses are looking to donate towards Sunday's event & to the Qld flood cause, AND need a tax receipt, they should hop on this website and check it out ;

http://www.smh.com.au/environment/weath ... 19hyx.html

It goes on to say that anyone can donate directly to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal via one of their donation methods ; online, in the mail, over the phone or at any branch of Bank of Qld, Westpac, Commonwealth, ANZ, Suncorp or NAB.

Whatever method you use, get yourself a receipt of payment. On that webpage, it goes on to add that if anyone needs a tax receipt, to send the proof of payment to ;

Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal

C/O Department of the Premier and Cabinet

PO Box 15185

City East QLD 4002

; and they’ll forward the company/business/individual a tax receipt. ;)

Best way to do it I reckon. Then if the donating company can let duck-man or O2 Thief know what amount they've donated as a result of supporting this Sunday's event, we'll know exactly how much the day has raised (although the funds will have already reached their intended destination). :D

If anyone has any suggestions other than this, please speak up, but I think this will avoid any potential messy situations on Sunday. 8)

ok, so heres the deal for those of you wondering what happens with the money at the end of the day. Myself, Marc and probably a 3rd party will do a final count at the end of the day. If we cannot get a Commonwealth bank rep. to be there to collect the money, then I will take it and drop it off to the elizabeth branch first thing Monday morning. I will scan and post the transaction receipt so everyone can see that it has all gone to the correct place.

HOPEFULLY we can get someone 'official' to be there to take it at the end of the day so we dont have to worry about putting it under my pillow over night! Ill make some calls to CBA today and let you all know asap.

if anyone wants to make a large personal donation to the cause the details are:

Account Name: Premiers Disaster Relief Appeal
BSB: 064 013
Account number: 1000 6800

If anyones work wishes to make a donation as 'sponsorship' for our event sunday let us know on here and we'll make sure they get a mention!

That's not a drama at all Smasha. That way you get the tax receipt you need. Just let ducky or Cuz know how much so we can get an idea of how much the day raised - including people who've donated directly to the Appeal Fund. Obviously the end total will be less on the day, but the main thing is that the coin goes straight to those who need it. 8)

A message from our volunteer Announcer/DJ

Rob Hart
I'm Ground Announcing/DJ-ing from 10.00am to 8.00pm with an all Aussie playlist (as it's nearly Australia Day). Angels, Aussie Crawl, Chisel (RIP Stevie), Crowdies, Hoodoo Gurus, Go Betweens, Hunters and Collectors, Powderfinger, Sherbert (RIP Harvey), Dragon, Flowers/Icehouse, Mentals, Hilltop Hoods, Oils, Paul Kelly, Ted Mulry and more. If you want to request a Top 40 tune or something non-Aussie it will cost you two bucks. Or if you're enjoying the classic Aussie hits feel free to drop some cash in the bucket too!

Some more donations today!

Commonwealth bank at Munno Para gave us a Mike Hussey signed 2010 ODI shirt. Commonwealth Bank Modbury gave us a Mike Hussey signed cap and a mini-bat signed by England and Australia. As well giving us a key to a night safe so we can get the money straight from the oval into a safe place. (Great hook up from Scott Dawson)

Harvey Norman at Munno Para are also putting together a package for us which includes a "dust-buster" mini vacuum and some linen so far.... watch this space...
