From the other forums Noarlunga are playing Blackwood at Blackwood Saturday Afternoon and Morphie Parks are playing Mclaren tonight at McLaren under lights form 7:30 I think.

Like others have said, only a couple of weeks out from it so teams would be looking to start fielding their better sides.

Anyone bold enough to pick a top 8 for this year?

Having not looked at the draw I sould imagine the top eight to be (in no particular order)

Reynella
Cove
Brighton
Noarlunga
Morphett Vale
Flagstaff Hill
Morphetville Park
Port Noalunga / Edwardstown

I think Noarlunga and Flagstaff Hill to be movers this year, both with youngish sides on the up. Also Cove to be a more dangerous side again.
Hard to know about Valley''s, hearing mixed reports could be on the slide or might make the eight also. Thoughts?

Aldinga will be the big improvers this year.

I'd expect them now to compete with and possibly beat OSB, Christies, Morphy Parks, Marion, Noarlunga etc

Have had a turnover in personell in the A grade squad of about 15 from what I've seen.

I'd expect Flaggys though to continue their development with the strong juniors and push up to fringe of top 6.

Brighton losing two best onballers Hunter & Norsworthy will hurt them.

Reynella to start favourite.
Cove & Happy Valley to be snapping at the top 3.

MV will be strong but not as dominant as past decade.

COVE -big improvers have added some quality to list and have got right behind new coach with a tough pre season
REYNELLA - still the team to beat
BRIGHTON - couple of huge outs but Trigger Rigney in
MORPHETT VALE - Lost some quality but still contenders
$HOES - Added some quality will improve
FLAGSTAFF - Quality youngsters and have added recruits
EDWARDSTOWN - bit of an unknown but have gained a few/lost a few


8th spot between Valley (also an unknown), Port Noarlunga and Morphy Park - ill lean towards Porties with the addition of the leagues best player Travis Tedmanson although big Seb and an easy draw could see the Roos return to finals

Yeah he is definitely a big man! Let's hope he's learnt to kick though!

Don't think the top four will change from last year, the bottom 4 may push and close the gap but top four still to finish there.. in no order wine flies, bombers, cove , vale!! Think any of these teams gave what it takes but will come down to who is in form come September with the least injuries..

These recruits have come with big reputations, one being a ruckman, one a CHF, the other a midfielder.

Just goes to show we are not playing in a competition. Draw flatters teams at the end of the Season.

I am sure all players would want to play in a more EVEN competition each week.

SFL is an absolute joke of a league at present. More worried about 125 years and an A & B grade association teams than the inherrent problems within.

What is 125 anyway, is this just a way of the SFL trying to take the gloss from the SAAFL 100.

Strath are just pissweak ******* amateurs if they can't find a team for what is an important showcase of southern footy !! I for one am absolutelely apalled that a club that supposedly has some pride and tradition should just ditch this game.

The GSFL should be seeking some retribution for the damage this has done to their league, and so should the Comunity Football Board !!!

This sort of disregard for the bigger picture outside their own club should not go unpunished. Strathalbyn, you are a disgrace in my eyes ..... and I think in many others as well.

Totally agree. This has become a permenent fixture on the calender over the last few years. It is to showcase some of the best footballers the area has to offer. I hope the selfishness of 1 club does not jeopardise this fixture in the future. I have been to see several of these games and have been amazed by the intensity and skill level for a game in march.

Morphy Parks beat McLaren Vale by 3 goals on Friday night.

Went and watched the Marion vs Myponga game on the weekend. Not sure of the exact scores but Myponga came out on top. Marion did field a full side with about 10 on the bench, Myponga fielded full A and B Grade squads although some of their new big recruits weren't playing. Cant say it was an interesting game with only a handfull of players from both sides doing anything exciting. To Marions credit they never laid down and died, in fact they came back in the second half and narrowed the scoreline.
