I reckon your best bet would be to ask Ray. It's certainly possible if Ray's no older than 53 or 54. Ray played for Mordialloc when it was in the VFA and that's not too far from Moorabbin. Google them and you'll find recent photos and it would be hard to say there's no family resemblance, but Ray looks older which can't be the case if they're brothers. But then again Bill would obviously have had to look after himself carefully for a lot longer.

Attendances and Admissions 1970-1978

1970...0-60...985,623
1971...0-80...1,030,332
1972...0-80...1,132,486
1973...0-80...1,131,233
1974...$1-00..1,163,196
1975...$1-20..881,014
1976...$1-50..997,039
1977...$1-50..1,094,871

1978...$2-00...1,048,871

Geez it got expensive to go to the Footy in 1978
There was a huge drop in the attendances in 1975 for whatever reasons

1979...$2-50...1,039,909
1980...$2-50...1,100,000

So if you add AFL & SANFL yearly attendances now I suspect they wouldn't compare to those numbers.

Main reason for the drop in attendances Mal was the decision to go from 21 or 22 minor rounds as there had been in recent years to just 18.

They played a mid season knock out competition with Glenelg & Sturt playing in the final at FP.

Glenelg played South in consecutive weeks. First week in the minor round then a week later for the Escort Cup as I think it was called back then.
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

There was a write up in todays paper in the basketball section about Mildenhall approaching the 1000 game milestone as an official.
It also mentioned he played a few games for St Kilda in the 70's and is the last link to the 1st season of the NBL.
After playing footy for the saints he used to referee NBL games such as St Kilda vs Nunawading...etc
His refereeing record is very impressive.

WEST TORRENS
After 6 rounds WT was bottom with 1 win [against NW]
In Round 7 WT 20-17 defeated CD 11-8 by a margin of 63 points [May 14th]
This win jump started thier season
There was an interesting article in the News on 16/5 , 2 days later
I have partially edited the article :

NOW EAGLES GO COLD ON LEASE PLAN
WT have gone cold on the idea of leasing Victorian footballers for this season
Chairman Wayne Jackson has said the club was having 2nd thoughts about leasing
Sundays win over CD got us thinking said Jackson
'' We had 12 Victorian players on our list ...""
The Eagles were interested in 2 Richmond players Ian Scrimshaw and Stephen Roach
Richmond Coach Barry Richardson was at the WT V CD game and told WT that his club had injury problems and could not afford to lease out any players
Carlton General Manager Keith Mckenzie was at the ground on Sunday and threw a new name into Torrens list-David Mckay
It was not the Carlton high flyer who has played almost 200 games for the Blues, it was a 19 year old rookie struggling to get a game
Jackson said that as long as Torrens played as well as they did on Sunday there was no despearte need to chase Victorian players
Jackson also said "" WE HAVE A TOUGH ROAD AHEAD FOR THE FINALS BUT I AM SURE WE CAN DO IT .""
It is belived CA were told to keep an eye on Mick Hamil earlier this year and that was exactly what Mckenzie did on Sunday
When asked if CA was interested in Hamill, Mckenzie replied :
"" CA are always interested in young players with a lot of potential.""

Wayne Jacksons finals predictions came into fruition !
It certainly was a good recovery by WT to make the finals

Kennedy didn't play for South Melb, West played hard ball and refused to clear him, though I can't recall his contractual status at the time. But I remember seeing him when he returned to training after doing the pre-season with the Swans and he was much bigger and more powerful. He went on to carry us through a couple of very lean rebuilding years under Trevor Hughes.

Mick Hamill didn't play VFL footy. He went to Port Adelaide for a time, before returning to Torrens. He played quite a bit of footy without ever really establishing himself as a league regular.

The David McKay mentioned was of course the same David McKay who commentated on the ABC in particular for a number of years.

QUESTIONS
ST 21-1
Has there ever been a better minor round performance in the SANFL ?

ST % of 61-18 would be one of the best % in SANFL history ?
Would the ST 2733 points be a near or a highest points tally in a SANFL season ?
Would the 2005 points scored by NA be a record or near record for the wooden spooner ?

Win % basis, no there hasn't. But for anyone to ever beat it, they would have to win every match as there will never be a 23 or 24 match minor round.

One of the best, although I can see at least 8 or 9 that are better from at least a 20 match minor round.
Not really, there were plenty more in the 70s and 80s, and more with a higher average over the years.
Woodville scored 2752 points in 1985, so no again.
