Malcolm Blight, then daylight.
Even though I did vaguely know Bob Simunsen at school.
(And watched him thrash a teacher, and SA state player, in a staff vs student match.)

Agree no comparison with Blighty but Zip Zap was handy and I always thought Trevor (Harry) Hoffman was under rated especially by geese of the calibre of KG

I'd stick Alan Jackovich in there as well, we all watched him like a hawk to see him give off that ever elusive handball.

Never happened

Round 22, 1989. Central v Woodville at Elizabeth. Ken Farmer Medal shootout.

Jakovich was having a ping from everywhere. Remember one passage of play clear as day.

Jakovich has the ball tight in the GMH end pocket. Darrell Panizza is running into an open goal screaming for it. Jakovich looks up. Sees him. Thinks about doing the team thing. And passing off. Yeah, nah.

He snaps from an impossible angle. Sprays it. Panizza gives him a spray.

All in vain coz Rudi won the medal.

=))

Kevin Harris - remember his Manassa-type goal v Port round 9 at Football Park in 1987 - running, bouncing beginning from behind the wing/half back/back pocket. Same day the brilliant Stephen Nicholls kicked plenty (10 I think) and one shot bounced off the top of the goal post - he probably meant to do it.

Had Stephen Nichols played 10 years later he surely would have played plenty of AFL games. What a brilliant player he was.
