There has been money in country footy for ages, why fight it?
Uncle Sam - Can't be too upset at Harvey & Pech when 98% of our team would've taken the bait as well.
Will miss them off and on the field.
Hurts us this year which is disappointing as with them we would have been right in the mix.
Thats footy nowadays though.

After all a little knowledge helps when you're out of your depth.

Looked at myself and I liked what I saw. BLG Forum is 10 times worse then the APFL forum.

I have seen you play MH and you are 10 times worse than most BL&G A graders, so it all balances itself out in the end.

Moving on from all this irrelevant rubbish...

2012 BL&G Grand Final will be held at the LYNDOCH Oval!!!!

Great news for the league, this should be great for Grand Final Day 2012, regardless of any teams it is a neutral ground and it is possibly the most central oval in the league, great news!!!

Your kidding surely. Would be no bigger than south or williamstown for parking. Hope they run some taxis to get from your car to the ground

Pity that the surface is the worst in the comp and there is no room for parking.

I think it's barossas turn for the gf. Where is there more parking, williamstown or lyndoch??
Could they have it at another venue but take the profits??
No difference in having it at Lyndoch or at williaston, they would still have to transport all there drinks ect to where ever they play it.
Back to the creek it is.

Osama are you out there? This terrible news of Harvey moving on can't be true, if so I can only imagine that you are consoling a distraught Media Mike in you cave. Will this see Media Mike get on the Mannum Roos bandwagon and we will see article after article in the Herald covering Harveys exploits. Very sad time for Media Mike and to be honest a sad time for Ango and the BLG but can you blame him, in the twilight of his career and a young family, the offer is obviously too good (probably not as high as being reported).

Skipper, i can guarentee u it is 100% as high as being reported.
Also have it on good authority that media mike is contemplating his future at the Herald after receiving an offer from the Murray Valley Standard. The new job offer is less money but he does get to follow his idol, im sure Harvey could probably top up Mike's payments in a cash for comments type deal. Can just hear it now on triple BBB, Media Mike has a sponsorship agreement with Diddles Harvey.
My money would be on diddles becoming the Boh Wall of the River Murray league.

That's a big pick-up if true. Could he bring some other mates with?

And also, thanks to those who provided some credentials for me in the earlier debate. And for the record, I don't 'hate, dislike or loath' BL&G. I do believe though that to blame the players and other competitions, as if BL&G (or any comp for that matter) has not been complicit for the $$$ situation, that is in football today is a bit ridiculous.
Pay players by all means but don't complain when someone outbids you.
Sorry for taking the topic away again. That's my last comment on the issue.

I believe this is correct. What about Barossa District attracting "sons of guns"? They now have Josh Moore (son of Terry) Scott Jenkins (Danny) and now Jesse Aish (Michael) all signed to play in 2012. With Taylor and Christie back as well, they have improved their list big time from last year...
I say no to drugs, but they don’t listen.

Dog good to have you aboard on our site. With you media connections can you give us an insight into why the Bunyip let Robert Laidlaw go.
The footy pages in the Bunyip where excellent and a credit to Robert and I believe he will be sorely missed.
Watch out for the Barossa District side this year as they have improved and can challenge the Tanunda side with there ins and development of there juniors.
Any news from Nuri on there recruits and departures this year.Is Hamilton, Cragg - Sappsford's, Taylor and Gogoll staying?

Agree Doggy that the $$ getting around in country footy for mecenaries is ridulous and all comps are to blame. Overall I think you are right the BLG would dish out more than the average league but would pay the same for the big names, this is testiment to the fact that they move around. Where the BLG pays out more is to its local lads who move to the city and are encouraged back, mainly due to our location to the the big smoke, other leagues are just too far out to do this.

Jarrad Byrne has signed with Nuriootpa - the Club should be happy with him - watched him play for Mt Torrens and he is a skillful, physical player and if the Tigers decide to approach his brother as well it will give the Club a big boost up forward. Think they played in the city last year and like to play in the same team.

Um, no, I can't. Sorry. The decision making on that was made before I got to The Bunyip.

I'm hopeful that the footy pages will continue to be excellent. As is obvious, I'm pretty passionate about footy and so is our new sports journo, Ben Jones.
We're looking for any insight or thoughts anyone may have about the things they like about The Bunyip's footy coverage and any changes people might like to see.
