Will he be cleared in time though. Would think he would be under contract.

Has confirmed he will not pull on the redlegs guernsey this year. Is prepared to sit out the year. Cant say the relationship with Mark and himself has been fruitfull. Wants to play with Barmera, but has a contract with us. Not sure if any other clubs had a crack at him.

Not that sort of people at Freeling, Mal Greenwood cleared to Barmera-Monash. Good luck to Greeny the footballer!

Having coached a team whose ex coach continued to play, it can be tough, but you don't have to be best friends with your coach to play good footy with your mates. Would of thought you honor the contract. That was something that was expected of another guy who wanted to leave halfway through last season, ironically under Greenwood. Be interested to see how it pans out

It's a tough thing to manage. Can't imagine it would've been easy for either party.
Letting Greenwood leave would suggest the Redlegs are happy with the direction being taken by the coach.

Tanunda v Willaston, Tanunda way too good 10 goal win
Freeling v Centrals, Freeling just at home 1-2 goals
Kapunda v Nuri, Bombers to avenge their loss in round 1, 4-5 goals
South v Barossa, South have also lost a couple to injury but will get home in a close one 2-3 goals. Will be interesting to see how the new recruit goes, believe Nick White was cleared late in the week and will be a late inclusion for the Lions

Geez must be on the limit for points. Lawry x2, Musolino, White, Trewen, Giradis??? thats 14 am i missing anyone Jim.
Must have been saving cash for the last 15 years as well to fit them all in. Add Bayliss and Paget to that who wouldnt be playing for peanuts.
White maybe just what you need to provide us with an interesting grand final for a change

Went down to Eldred Riggs Reserve for a look at the clash between South Gawler and Barossa District this afternoon. The Lions were very impressive after many years in the wilderness. The big fella Paget dominated the ruck with some great tap work, Jackson Dare was brilliant in the middle and Gerardis was unstopable up forward kicking 8. South Gawler had lots of contributors all over the ground be interesting to see if they can challenge Tanunda in September. The B's had a good win today and are sitting top and havn't dropped a game this year. Many former A grade players in the B's there must plently of depth at the Den.

The highlight of the afternoon was to see Lee Makris still running around in the main game, never a skinny man, has definately been in a good paddock :D

Is he only 2?
Not sure exactly how it works.
Wouldnt it be easier for the assoc to just come out and list all the players on points?
That way we dont have to rely on guesswork and heresay

Lions Roaring

Postby Inside_Scoop » Sun Jun 24, 2012 11:04 pm

About time the lions are roaring again. After being challenged by barossa in the third, lions stood up and hit back hard!! They will be the only genuine flag contender and are likely to challenge tanunda to the very end. Well coached and brilliant structures. Midfield is dynamic and the backline is the best in the league with the likes of H Lawry and D Lee.

Last year Freeling wouldnt clear Max Doherty to Balaklava so he sat out the second half of the year

Well, there seems to be a lot of love in the air for the new Blue eyed boys?
Where were all these self congratulators a few weeks ago? Ain't winning grand - and that's apparentlly what it costs; and lots of them.
But before we get carried away, this all sounds familiar to the Willaston saga of 2011. They didn't beat Tanunda either. And let's not forget there's another team in the BLG who have won 6 straight now, and beat the new darlings, and who don't add another new signing every other week, and who play with a team of locals, and who don't have to waste the economy of a small European(or large) country to pay for their success every week.
I'm not saying that the Bombers can beat Tanunda, but they are showing that success doesn't always come from a cheque book. However good South think they are at the moment, it's only a moment.

Doesn't matter who fronts up against Tanunda - they are still that far ahead of any other team in the league. They might get pushed but just can't see any side taking the flag away from them in 2012.
