Ok fans!!! Just going to clear up a couple of points, first Meyer Shield team needed a shake up and also like 15 years ago needed a strong youth fact to get a core of players together who in time would have a good chance of winning as with the process of the team that went on to win in 2002.
Not going to hide from helping select the team, and to be honest if i had it all my way i would have put Jake Ashton-Place and Luke Bartlett in the side Change change change,...YOUTH YOUTH YOUTH for the future!!!!
Getting beaten by the Invitation side last year waz clearly not good enough, so a different approach waz needed. Yes its the Hills this year, but if you show application with the bat and bowl correct lines it doesn’t matter who you play!!!!!
Donaldson, Parry, Nash & Tucker pulling up sore each week, R Garrard coming back this year along with Trapolino were VERY unlucky, Franceschini from Willunga waz another young player in the league that waz spoken about, along with Vincent from R. Bay as a spinner. Oh Ifould & Num..over 35,s..
Im about winning and when you pick a team like this you have to have a balanced side AND one who will GELL together quickly without a “disruptive influence’ of anyONE player in the TEAM!!!!!..
Coxy did his time well in the invitation side last year is keeping and batting very well and is 20years old(we are looking for the same result from Chambers this year)!!!!!! In the whole side Hicks and Butler are the ones questioned most i agree, but Hicks can hit boundaries’ quick at the end to push the score or bring home the side, he also is good for 3-5 overs and good in the field ...in my opinion bowls before Hoffman who excels bowling stump to stump on the turf and is more of a partnership breaker on the hard-wicket. Butler gets them or he doesn’t as with Moules they bowl well for the Bays(who are top) and the side is Captained by Richie O!!!!..
The team bats right hand/left hand just about all the way down(tony trait), i will say that if at the end of last season someone said J Beveridge will play Meyer Shield this year i would have LMAO waz dropped to the B grade for the first final, BUT has come back worked hard by all reports in the nets twice a week, bowling machine etc and well done to him!!!!
Chopper and Num will be resigning from Meyer Shield after this year, some will say GOOD...BUT put your hand up spend YOUR time and money(phone calls etc)if you think its an easy job!!!!!
Good luck lads!!!!!! Solid times!!!!!
