My footy guernsey is #43 and me and my best mate fight over whose number is better (nebulous, I know). When I heard about this movie coming out I was up in his face and gloating "See! They never made a hollywood movie about your number!".

I will be keeping him from reading articles like the one above

Actually rented this crap when it came out. Every time we see a bad movie, we always say "this is almost as bad as Triangle"

What's the point in making a trashy B-Grade movie set in the sun and surf if, at the very least, you don't have a hot actress in a bikini?

Very fine talents of Rachel Carpani and Emma Lung were terribly wasted.

Filmmakers should be ashamed...

Can anyone tell me if Dune is worth watching?

Got through about 10 minutes last night and turned it off. I was pretty tired and it was too bloody confusing at that stage of the night.

David Lynch film?

HELL TO THE N-O!

Interestingly, Lynch turned down Return of the Jedi to make this turkey.

“I went to meet George Lucas, who had offered me the third Star Wars to direct, and I’ve never even really liked science fiction. I like elements of it, but it needs to be combined with other genres. And, obviously, Star Wars was totally George’s thing.”
- David Lynch, Lynch on Lynch.

Agreed. OTT and implausible backstory let down the core idea behind the original story

Too bad Lynch didn't do rotj. In fact, too bad anyone else didn't do it besides Lucas.

George should've stuck to his original version:

- Han dies.
- No Death Star.
- Luke and Leia aren't brother and sister.
- No ewoks/Endor; wookies/Kashykk instead.
- Tonally similar to Empire.

But then Raiders was a smash and Lucas just wanted to make "roller-coaster" movies, seemingly ignoring what made that such a great film. Producer Gary Kurtz walked off Jedi coz he didn't like where Lucas was taking it.

Plus Lucas couldn't handle an experienced, strong-willed director like Irvin Kershner, who pretty much shut him out during Empire...
