Ronald (middle initial J) played one game in 1945 (also played 6 games with Norwood-North)
If that's a help.

It does, because in my Magarey Medal votes, Ron Taylor polled votes for Torrens in 1984 and 1985, so he's different.

If anyone has a copy of Bloods Sweat and Tars, it could be established when Robert Taylor played for West.

I've been chewing over the pre-1907 players quite a bit. I have included some prominent players in the lists at the moment. I'm not sure how accurate the records are back then, so I was thinking I could have a separate thread for the players who exclusively played before 1907. What do you think? (And I pose this question to everyone else).

There are a few more "Same as" questons I would like to ask, too:

David Crawford - Norwood (1913-15)
William Crowe - Norwood (1909-10)
Frederick Curnow - South
There is a Leonard Dangerfield for Glenelg, too.
Clem Dayman - Port

Leaping, this is another question I asked to Legs11 on the Norwood thread about WW2 players, and included is his reply. What is your opinion on this?

5.
Robert Jervis
Robert Bertram
William Jordon

I have a theory in why these names aren't in The Men of Norwood. Because of the pairing of the teams in 1942-44, players are credited with games played for whatever pair they played for. But I have read that Bob Hank played for Port-Torrens in 1944, but is not on The Power from Port website. I think this is because of him not living in the Port Adelaide zone at the time. It is for that reason Jervis, Bertram and Jordon do not appear in the book, I feel. And also, players may not be credited for the other club if they were already a one of the clubs i.e one player was at Torrens in 1941, and continued on for Port-Torrens in 1942, but is not in The Power from Port records. What do you think about this? Should I keep these player on the Norwood list or not?

I have a slightly different theory on these guys, and others who played in that era. Basically, players were credited with having continued their careers with either Norwood or North footy clubs, as long as they had played for either club before 42-44, or continued for either club from 45 onwards. However, these players only played between 42-44, so which clubs do you put them under??? Hope that makes sense
