I loved the lace up guernseys. They should make a comeback.

The VFL banned them in 1985 and the SANFL followed eventually. I think I was the last one to wear one at SAAFL level until I retired in 2002 when all clubs had to buy licensed clothing which the suppliers did not supply.


2001 was the last year that lace ups were worn by Port and Sturt

I still wear mine to every game. Circa 1987 worn by Hodgey. A gift for my 21st.
