Worst decision of the year by far, 3-4 minimum for that IMO

Going by the performance of these 2 teams today. Everyone else will be playing for third. Impressive

Hate to say it but Bingo!
He looks a million dollars when he plays loose or goes 3rd man up but it $hits me that he never goes on the oppositions best forward.
He should of gone straight to Hawkins today.
Disappointing day but Premierships aren't won in April, I think we will cross paths with them some time in September id imagine.
Onto the Saints next week

Cheney looked like a little boy up against Hawkins.

I guess the gameplan was to get Gibson to double team that match up, only he was hardly allowed near those contests by his opponent.

around.

Agreed Hammer.

With no footy for me to concentrate on this weekend, my girlfriend still away on holiday Friday/Saturday and wanting a weekend not on the beers I had more time than I usually do to watch the weekends games. I watched all of the Lions v Tigers, all of the Magpies v Roos, the majority of the Crows v Giants and the second halves of Port v West Coast and the Blues v Bulldogs games. Apart from nearly the Power v West Coast game no games matched the intensity of todays blockbuster, the contests, second efforts, tackling and pressure was aussie rules football at it's best. The Crows v Giants was a walk in the park for Adelaide, the Giants were poor and Daingerfield had a day out. The other games were all pretty close and in some 5/10 minute periods of quarters just before a quarter break we had players out on there feet and as a result we had very scrappy football being played where teams found it hard to be clean skilled and playing at the intensity they had been.

Today's game was played at 100% intensity nearly every minute of the game and neither team really dropped away at any stage. Shows the difference between the best and the rest and no matter the personnel they have in their side Geelong and Hawthorn always bring out the best in each other.

I don't understand why the Match Review Panel can't make an assessment of that incident.
Television footage seemed pretty clear so what's stopping them dealing with it? I thought that's what they're there for. :?

I think after all the stink about Merrett's elbow to the head they are now referring all head contacts directly to the tribunal.
AFL 360 summed it up tonight when they said Douglas will be used as a test case.
I dont think there was anything wrong with what he did but the softcocks at AFL house dont like it

Like Harley was, like Lonergan is etc etc. Gibson had no help yesterday and the contests he got to ( bar one that McIntosh marked ) he impacted upon. Take your hooped glasses off, Gibson is good. ;)

Lake back into that side and Sewell ( which allows Hodge to patrol the back half ) and the next match between these will be another cracker.

With Douglas straight to the tribunal, Adelaide might not even get 1 and a sup.

Any guesses on Douglas' suspension? I'm going 4 weeks.

0 weeks for mine re Douglas

Great bump, Non issue, too bad if you get concussion...shit happens in a contact sport. Didnt leave the ground, didnt aim for the head, just a bump ffs.
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

Are you a bit slow on the uptake?
You can't do what Douglas did anymore - whether we like it or not.
Ward wasn't even chasing the crows player with the ball (if you watch the angle from behind).
Douglas picked him off, pretty much coming from the blindside. To say Ward should have been more aware is folly.

Too bad he got concussion? Your player Douglas won't be thinking that when it's taken into account on how many games he'll be suspended.

Didn't aim for the head? Irrelevant and not a defence.

He'll get 3 matches I reckon.

No it certainly is not. Ridiculous statement.

What you can't do is pick blokes off like Douglas did. It's arguable if it was within 5 metres of the play and as Fyfe demonstrated 2 weeks ago the intent to hit the head might not be there but, if you choose to bump and hit the head you are in trouble. Pretty easy to follow.

Netball tougher than football.....geez.

I haven't seen any netballers get suspended from their sport recently as a result of the physical nature of their sport. They just pick themselves up off the boards and get on with....
